Chapter 4

Aphmau POV

I sat on the floor in his arms for a few minutes trying to calm down. Then he puts his hands under my elbows and pulls me up, one of my knees aches of strapping pain from where I collapsed on the floor. I wipe my face with the sleeve of my jacket. I'm avoiding the boys eyes. Weird that helped me. No one would ever think of doing that for someone like me. I sneak a glance at his face. It's the same boy I ran into this morning. I look back up at him, and meet his eyes. He smiles "I'm Garroth" he's says "and you?" "Aphmau" I say quietly looking down as I say it. "Apple?" He says to make sure he heard me right. "No Aphmau" I say a little louder and smiling a little. "Oh well nice to meet you Aphmau" I give a small smile still looking in his eyes, studying him. Why would he help me? His eyes where bright blue and full of life, they where brighter then the skies. They where quit beautiful actually. The 5 minute bell rang snapping back to reality. I feel my face grow hot "I-I better get to class" I say picking up my stuff. "Yeah see ya later Aphmau" he says smiling at me. I start making my way towards health class and I hear someone jogging behind me, it was Garroth. "Looks like we have the same class" He says cheerfully. "Yeah" I say letting myself smile a little. As we walk down the hall together we pass a group of girls and when they see me they start pointing and whispering to each other. "Uh A-Aphmau" I hear Garroth say. I look at him and he's blushing, I realized a grabbed his hand. "Oh sorry" I say looking back at the group of girls still gossiping about me, and my eyes start to burn. Then Garroth puts his arm around my shoulder guides me down the hall. He gives the group a girls a quick smile and they all start giggling but quickly stop when they look at me again. Garroth keeps his arm around me until we get to our first class. Then he looks at me and say "You'll be okay, I won't let anyone hurt you" I smile a little at him. His blue eyes filled with curiosity and happiness. It's weird that I've never noticed him in my class before. Probably because I always walk straight to sit at the back of the class avoiding everyone I can, but I think it will be nice to have a friend. That's all we'd ever be right? Just friends.
