1 Month Later

It has been almost a month since I ran away from home.

Home.

Could I call it that? What it ever my home?

' Too late now' the voice comments in my head.

The sound of my phone's ringtone brings me to reality, away from my thoughts.

I groan and reach for my phone which is losing on my side table.

"Hello?" I answer the call.

"Hi there Anna, It's Poppy from Daisy's Dinner, I was wondering if you could take Eve's shift today at work? If not, don't worry, it's just that I thought of asking Emily but then she said that she was gone to Brighton for a personal affair which I'm pretty sure actually means I'm going out to see my boyfriend and I thought of you and I was wondering if you could take Eve's sh-"

"Yes, I can Poppy. " I cut her off her little ramble.

"Oh! Great. Thank you! " she exclaims.

I smile slightly. "It's no problem, I'll be there in half an hour okay? "

"Of course my dear, thank you. Oh! Thank you my dear, you are so kind. I've never met someone as-"

I hang up.

Sighing, I lift myself of the bed and walk to the bathroom to get changed.

Once I'm changed, I grab my Apartment keys, my purse and my phone.

I put my shoes, a black coat, a hat and a pair black gloves on as well.

I walk out the door and go down the hallway to the elevators. I press the 'down' button and wait for the elevator.

Sighing in impatience, I cast a quick glance at the screen of my phone which tells me the time.

11:30 am

'Ding'

The soft sound of the elevator rings though the air.

"Finally" I mutter.

"So impatient" A familiar voice teases, I spin around with a small smile on my face.

"Hey, Charlie. " I say to the blonde guy with bright blue eyes in front of me.

"Hey, Anna. A fine day today, isn't it? " he playfully asks and smiles as me as joins me in the elevator.

"I wouldn't know, I haven't been out yet"

"Ah. So where are you heading to now then?"

"Just to cover a shift for a friend at work"

"Oh. Okay."
