I walked through the doorway and headed down the vanilla colored hallway and into the foyer. I walked up to the big oak door and reached for the door handle. I twisted the handle, cold and silver, down and opened the door. I walked through the doorway and out onto the front porch and closed the door behind me. The bright Pennsylvania sky was lit with a big bright sun and there was a few clouds in the baby blue sky. The birds chirped and the big open yard was green and beautiful. The dirt driveway was just so welcoming. I looked around at all the trees that surrounded the big farm house. I took in a deep breath of the fresh, late Summer air. I reached into my pocket and pulled out my pack of cigarettes. I slipped a cigarette out of my pack and put it between my lips. I held up my lighter to the cigarette and lit it. I took a drag and inhaled.
"Well, maybe if you hadn't been such an asshole..." Her words cut off. She grunted and threw her hands up in the air as a shade of irritation made its way across her face. She grunted again and looked at me. She mouthed, "I'm sorry."
I took another drag on my cigarette and started to slowly work my way down the steps of the porch to where Constance was standing, annoyed, and ready to smash her phone. I blew out the smoke and put a hand on her shoulder and took another drag on my cigarette.
She looked up at me from what I could tell she wanted to just throw her phone and step on it. She was so angry and irritated. She opened up her mouth, "No, don't you dare even think about showing up here at my house! I will personally beat the living shit out of you if you even step one foot..."
She got cut off again and she shoved her tongue into the side of her lip. She clenched her fist tighter and let it hang right at her side. She was ready to fight. She may be small, but she looked she was about to explode. Almost just like how people say that dynamite comes in small packages.
"I don't care if you think you're gonna lay your hands on me. You're dead wrong. Not anymore. You will never lay another hand on me! You have no idea who you're messing with!" She grunted and then she went off again, "No! You are not coming over here and if you do show up, just know it's not going to be pretty! Try me, Asshole!" She hit the end button, locked her phone and clenched it in her fist. She shut her eyes and just grunted a little bit.
I hadn't noticed, but the more she talked the tighter my other hand got as it made a fist at my side. My cigarette went out and I flicked it into the yard and put my arms around her waist. I bent down and put my head on her shoulder and asked, "Ex-boyfriend?"
She still had her eyes shut and she was still tensed up. She nodded and grunted again in anger. She put her phone in her pocket in my leather jacket that she was still wearing after weeks. "He thinks he's coming over here and causing trouble, because I wouldn't call him and beg him to take me back. He doesn't realize that there are plenty of people here that will kick his ass if he even so much as thinks he's gonna lay a hand on me."
I took in a silent, deep breath and let it out slowly, "If he comes here, I'll let you know now, I will be the first to kick his ass!" I turned my head and brushed my lips across her neck. I stopped and kissed her neck gently and briefly. I didn't let the kiss linger too long, because I didn't want to stir up any other emotions. She was already frustrated, so I figured I just wouldn't mess with her emotions right now.
She looked at me and tangled her right hand in my hair, "Ian just thinks he's got control of me, is all. What he doesn't realize is that he can never control me...not anymore. I have you now. Not only do I have you, but I have Jake, Jinxx, CC, Ash, Hannah, and my family." She sighed, "That's more than enough."
I pursed my lips and nodded, "You're right. Ian doesn't stand a chance when you've got a whole band, a friend, and family to stick up for you. Although, I'm sure you don't need us, because I think you could kick his ass all by yourself." I turned her around and hugged her tight, but not too tight. I wanted her to keep being able to breathe.
