It's been a few weeks since all that went down at Aaron's and I haven't talked to Heather. She refuses to speak to me, I sent her a text message last week but she hasn't responded to me. I'm the one who should be upset with her but it's obviously the other way around. She moved seats in class and she doesn't come to lunch anymore.
I guess it's true when they say people change and you don't stay friends forever.
Jason knows I'm upset about it so he doesn't bring it up to me or even ask me about her.
Today me and Jason are hanging out at my house to watch the movie If I Stay. He's not into lovey type movies but I am so he agreed to come over but first he wants to order take-out.
We decide on pizza and wings. And delivery should take no more than 20 minutes.
As we're waiting I decide to play a fun game. "Let's play 21 questions." I tell him.
"Okay you first." He tells me.
"What do you like most about me?" I ask him.
"Your smile. It can light up the whole room." He says smiling at me.
I feel my cheeks getting warm. "Okay go." I quickly say.
"What would you do if I told you I loved you?" He asks me.
Im in shock he'd ask that. I do love Jason. He's my world. My best friend my everything. "I'd say I love you too." I say smiling.
I think our 21 questions went way off track.
"Andrea, I do love you. I hope you know that. I'm so glad I decided to write you that night, you have no idea what I was going through. Even though it was quick 'hey' you chose not to ignore me. And that forever changed my life." He looked so cute and yet so sad at the same time.
"I love you too Jason." I leaned in to give him a kiss and once again I felt like this man was going to be apart of my life for eternity.
I hear the door bell ring and I jump quickly which interrupts my kiss with Jason. Pizza! Jason grabs the money off the table and walks to the door.
"Hi you ordered one large pepperoni pizza and and
16 wings?" The voice sounds so familiar I turn to see who it is.Amy Johnson.
"Yes ma'am." I hear Jason say.
She's staring right into him. She doesn't even see me from afar.
I'm looking at her and I'm wanting to tear her head off. I remember the picture that she shared and how there was no trace of her anywhere to be found. I want to walk to the door but I don't want to look like suspicious. I definitely don't want her to see me cause than she'll know where I live.
"Your total is $22.50" she tells Jason handing him the boxes.
He hands her $25 and says, "Thanks keep the change."
Really Jason? You're gonna tip her?
I walk back to the living room so he doesn't see me and think I'm spying on him.
He comes in with the pizza and I don't want to ask him about her yet until the movie is over just in case in ruins the mood.
He sits down next to me and presses play on the remote.
He must really be enjoying the movie cause I haven't heard him say a word. I look over at him and his eyes are glued to the tv. I doubt he even saw me look at him. He looks so cute.
I lay my head on him and he wraps his arm around my waist. I feel his chest going up and down and I listen to his heart beating. I swear it's in sync with mine. I'm no longer watching the movie, I'm just listening to his breathing. It's calming.
When the movie finishes he says, "if that ever happened to one of us, what would you do?" I can tell he's emotionally touched.
"I'd wait for you, I'd want you to stay with me." I tell him.
"I'd want the same." He says gazing into my eyes.
I break eye contact and I get up from the couch to clean up the pizza boxes.
Which reminded me of Amy.
"I didn't know Amy worked at Pizza Plaza." I tell Jason.
"Who?" Jason asks me.
"Amy Johnson." I tell Jason throwing the pizza boxes in the trash.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Jason says.
I walk into the living room and look at him and say, "The girl from Marcelo's who shared our picture on Facebook which let the whole world know we were dating, remember?" I cross my arms waiting for a reply.
He tilted his head to the side and said, "Babe, you're seriously losing your mind, I don't know what your talking about." He claims.
"Seriously Jason?" I can't believe him.
"Babe.. You must be off your rocker, who's Amy Johnson?" He looks so believable.
"Fine, play dumb. I'll prove it to you. I save every text in my phone and I have it." I say scrolling through my phone.
"I'll believe it when I see it." He says to me.
I scroll back to 3 months before. I finally find a text that says "I'll be there in 5 minutes" Thats when he was picking me up for the date. I scroll down thinking I passed it. I keep looking and I know it was the next day but there's nothing there.
"Did you find anything?" Jason asks.
"Shut up!" I yell at him.
The only two other people who knows what I'm talking about is Heather, who isn't speaking to me and Nicole. I call Nicole and put her on speaker.
"Hey Stranger!" She says when she answers.
"Hey Nicole, do you remember that girl Amy Johnson?" I ask her.
"Who?" She asks me.
"Amy Johnson." I repeat.
"I don't know any Amy Johnson." Nicole says.
"You told me she hated me because I lost her hamster in 5th grade, remember!" I yell.
She laughs and says, "I never said it was Amy Johnson or who ever you said..."
"Well who was it than?" I ask her.
When Nicole responds my mouth drops open, and Jason looks at me like I've lost my fucking mind.
"That was Heather's hamster." She says.
