Ichimatsu had left so quickly, the other brothers hadn't had a chance to respond, and Todomatu had already hung up. They were still recovering from the bad news, and suddenly Karamatsu spoke up, "I want to visit him next," he said. He silently searched for a book to read to Jyushimatsu. "He loves to be read stories, doesn't he." The others nodded in silence, which was kept for a while.

Todomatsu stepped inside, and almost immediately was flooded with questions. "If you want to find out, go see him yourself!" He said grumpily. He was not in the best mood, since he felt somewhat responsible for what happened to Jyushimatsu.
"Stupid Dry Monster! You always have to keep to yourself, don't you?! Well maybe AT LEAST ONCE JUST FUCKING TELL US WHAT HAPPENED!!" That was it. Osomatsu had snapped. Infuriated, he stormed out the house, to talk with Chibita. He didn't feel like a very good older brother for not seeing him first. He felt miserable. The other two brothers gave Todomatsu a look and waited silently for their minds to forget what had just happened. It just kept coming back, along with the fact that Jyushimatsu was currently in the hospital.

Ichimatsu had called, saying that he couldn't handle it anymore, and that someone else come in for him. He also said to bring a paper and pencil, but the brothers didn't know why. Karamatsu had gotten up, picked up his guitar, the book, and the pencil and paper, and set off. He thought he could play a few chords for him, and maybe if Jyushimatsu was up to it, he could sing along. When he got to the hospital, he asked the lady at the desk for the room. When he found out it was 14, he had the same thought as when Ichimatsu found out, how ironic.
"Jyushimatsu? Oh my little Jyushimatsu?" Ichimatsu looked up from Jyushimatsu, and looked at Karamatsu in disgust. His face shriveled up when he looked down and saw the guitar and book.
"You're not... Attempting to read to him... Right?" He asked.
"Of course, I want my little Jyushimatsu to cheer up!" Karamatsu replied, "What, jealous because you didn't think to do anything?" Ichimatsu got up from the seat by the bed, looking down at his sleeping brother. He stroked his hair once more and walked out of the room. Karamatsu swore he heard Ichimatsu whisper as he passed, stupid bastard, but it could've just been his imagination.
"Jyushimatsu? Oh he's sleeping."  Karamatsu said.  He noted that Jyushimatsu's eyes were red, so he must have been crying.  He hasn't cried in a while, so it must've been really bad.  He also noticed the bandages on his ears.  He tapped his brother lightly, and sat next to the bed.  "Jyushimatsu, it's your brother, Karamatsu."  Jyushimatsu woke up with a jolt and calmed down when he saw it was just Karamastu.  "Ah, you've woken up, sorry about that."  He felt bad.
"Oh, Karamatsu.  Hi there..."  Karamatsu was shocked at how much different he sounded without any joy in his voice.  He felt the need to hug his little brother, but chose not to.
"Ah, I have my guitar, want to sing with me?"  Karamatsu picked up his guitar and started tuning it.
"Heh... Um... What?"  Jyushimatsu looked at the guitar and sighed.
"Or I could read to you!  Look I brought one of your favorite books!" Karamatsu picked up the book.
"Um... Karamatsu nii-san, I can't... Understand..." Jyushimatsu said miserably with his head hanging.
"Do you want me to read to you?  Unless you want to just draw of course, Ichimatsu told me to bring some paper and a pencil so I have that," Karamatsu noted.  Then he realized his mistake.  "Omg I'm... Such an awful brother for not realizing..." He started to mutter.  Then he wrote down something.
[I'm sorry, I didn't realize, nobody told me that you couldn't hear]
"It's actually alright, I do wish I could hear you play for me though."  Jyushimatsu said quietly and Karamatsu started tearing up.  "There are lots of things I'm going to miss," he continued, "For example, the sound of the baseball hitting the bat perfectly, I loved that sound."  Karamatsu started crying so he turned his head.  "And the sound of my nii-sans' voices." Jyushimatsu muttered.  Karamatsu turned towards him and pulled him into a hug.  "I will always keep smiling though!" He said, and Karamatsu started sobbing.  Jyushimatsu smiled awkwardly and hugged his brother back.  "Funny, you tend to get sleepy when everything's so... Quiet..."  Jyushimatsu fell asleep.  Karamatsu called his brothers to let him know that someone else could take his place.  He sobbed quietly until he fell asleep on Jyushimatsu's chest.
