Karamatsu had let Jyushimatsu sleep, and it was getting quite late, so eventually he fell asleep too. He woke up to find Jyushimatsu still sleeping, softly twitching. He must be dreaming. He wondered what it felt like to have dreams with no sound. Or maybe he could hear in his dream. Karamatsu decided to call his brothers.
Choromatsu had answered Karamatsu's call. "Hey, uh... Did Todomatsu or Ichimatsu ever tell you anything...else?" Karamatsu asked.
"Umm, I don't think so," Choromatsu replied, "Why, is there something else we need to know?"
"Uh, about that... There's something important you need to know... You see... Jyushimatsu is...well... He's deaf..." Choromatsu took a second to soak it all in. Deaf? Wait what does it mean to be deaf again? No...hear...ing? No hearing? Jyushimatsu can't hear?
Oh God.
I guess Jyushimatsu can't hear then.
Choromatsu's mind was racing. Karamatsu could hear him breathing heavily. Choromatsu said, " I'll be there soon. I've got to tell the others." He then hung up.
At home, Choromatsu was pacing. How could Todomatsu not tell us this?! He then thought for a moment. He really is delicate. Todomatsu, trying to hide his disgust with himself, took it out on us.
"Hey, uhh, guys." Choromatsu started. He noticed Osomatsu was back. He must've come home when he was on the phone.
"What is it, Fappymatsu?" He said. Choromatsu was disgusted. How could he act like this when his brother is in the hospital? He calmed down, took a deep breath, and said it quickly.
"Jyushimatsu is deaf."
"Huh?"
"I said he's deaf, you idiot!" And with that he left Osomatsu speechless, as he briskly walked out of the house. Osomatsu suddenly felt horrid, and went to go puke in the bathroom.
Choromatsu ran as fast as he could to the hospital. When he got there, the lady at the desk was confused. "I thought you were still here..."
"No ma'am, I have 5 other brothers. We're sextuplets, actually. I came to see one of them, Matsuno Jyushimatsu."
"Room 14. That's... Quite ironic, isn't it?" She made a pitiful face at him, and Choromatsu nodded. He quickly walked to the room.
"Ah brother! I guess, you've... Told the others then..." Karamatsu said when he saw him.
"Yeah... I think Osomatsu was pretty upset." He sighed, looking at the state Jyushimatsu was in. Karamatsu thanked him for taking his place and left. "Oh Jyushimatsu, this wasn't supposed to happen to you..." He strode over the the side of his bed, where Jyushimatsu lay pale. Suddenly he started spasming, and the heart monitor started beeping. Choromatsu gasped as he rushed to pick up Jyushimatsu's hand. "Omg, what's going on?" By the time the doctor had come in though, Jyushimatsu had calmed down. The doctor informed him that he must've been recollecting the experience of all his hearing suddenly disappearing. He had calmed down because Choromatsu was holding his hand. The doctor had another alarm and had to run off. Choromatsu was alone with Jyushimatsu again. Choromatsu began to wonder. Was losing hearing painful? What did it feel like? He wanted to ask them but Jyushimatsu was asleep. Well, at least he's getting rest. Choromatsu looked at his watch. 9:57 PM. He decided to pull an all-nighter, just in case Jyushimatsu woke up.
Choromatsu began to realize by around 1:20 AM that pulling an all-nighter is really hard. He began to fall asleep until Jyushimatsu suddenly woke up. "Choro...matsu?"
"Ah! Y-yes?" Choromatsu soon realized his mistake. He quickly scribbled on a nearby price of paper, [yes?]
"Can I have some water?" Choromatsu realized when he said that, that he too was really thirsty. He quickly grabbed a cup from the nearby sink and filled it with water. "Thank you." After a few sips, Jyushimatsu set the cup down and fell back asleep. Choromatsu tried as hard as he could to stay awake, but ended up passing out at around 3AM.
He was woken up by Jyushimatsu, when they came to let Jyushimatsu out of bed to go to the food court with Choromatsu. He was put on a wheelchair and they made their way there. Luckily, Jyushimatsu's room was on the same level as the food court, so getting there wasn't hard. Choromatsu saw a few nurses with trays of goopy food in them. Must be for patients with eating problems. He was glad Jyushimatsu didn't have to eat that stuff. When they got to the food court, Choromatsu noticed a change in Jyushimatsu's behavior. He immediately seemed happier, and smiled to everyone he passed. Must be because he's out of that stuffy hospital room. Choromatsu thought. When I they got to the food court, Choromatsu wrote down his questions from earlier. [Is losing your hearing painful?] Jyushimatsu looked down from his food and read the note. "Ahh... Well, it comes suddenly. Like, one moment, you can hear, and the next moment, you can barely hear the really loud noises. It feels a little weird.". Choromatsu didn't fully understand, but he got the gist of it. He felt a little normal, except, he was not talking with words. He also felt that Jyushimatsu was a little less happy as well. He felt a little sick, and decided to call Todomatsu, telling him he felt sick and he should come back and talk to Jyushimatsu. He knew Todomatsu was overwhelmed at the time so he couldn't say anything. Just cry. Choromatsu sighed and looked back at Jyushimatsu, who was eating his cookie.Wow! Almost 150 views! I know this is barely any to a lot of people, but I'm really happy!
