chapter 1

*Ruby*

Hello, my name is Ruby syed. And this is my story.

It all started when I was just 18yr old....

"Ruby honey come here, there is something we have to tell, and I think its time for you to know about this"

Was what my mother told me. I knew, what ever it is will change my life completely.
You see I was always very responsible daughter, I always obeyed my parents did what they expected me to do.

I was good at studies, my parents wanted me to become a doctor and so that became my aim.

For me my parents are everything. My mom is my best friend and my dad is my role model.

I am from a middle class family. We are not very rich. But we are living a comfortable life.

I have a brother, Muiz syed, 4yrs younger than me.

I composed myself and asked them

"What is it mom!??"

"Honey,we have made a decision for you. And we think it will be very good for your future.
You see darling, you are very dear to us, and we can't see you getting married to some unknown person and going away.
So we have decided that you will marry Mudassar, when its time. When you both have settled in your lives."

You see Mudassar Ahmed is a only son of my dad's best friend, Riyaz Ahmed. Mudassar's mom sameena ahmed, died in a accident 5yrs ago.

Our families have been very close. Mudassar is like a second son to my parents. My mom adore him way too much.

Mudassar is my best friend. We have known each other for whole life. They are our neighbors, we were in same in same school, he is just 2 months older than me. Have been in same classes and tuitions for our whole life.

Mudassar is a very good looking guy. Captain of our school foot ball team, where I excelled in studies , he excelled in sports. We both had different future planned.

Where I wanted to be a doctor, he wanted to run his father's business.

The idea of marrying Mudassar was very weird.

" mom no... Mudassar and I are best friends. We don't love each other in that way mom. No this isn't possible. .... Its just so weird ."

"Sweeti you don't have to marry him now, you both are still young. Go ahead and fulfill your dreams. Any how you are moving states for your college. You will marry him when you finish your studies.

It will be best. You see, you both have known each other for so many years, you both understand each other so well. He will make you the happiest woman in the world.

Just give it a chance. You might not love him now. But I am sure one day you will..

Talk to him, before you both part your ways."

I didn't know, what to think of this. I mean in a way our parents are right. It will be easy to fall in love with him. And Riyaz uncle loves me like his own.

It won't be so bad....
