I run down the stairs and to the front door. When I open it I reveal one handsome, smiling, Marcel. I run and jump into his arms for a hug and he hugs me back tightly, "I missed you!"
"I missed you too!" I reply, squeezing him tighter.
"It's only been since last night that you two saw each other," Niall rolls his eyes, stepping past us and into the kitchen. "Do you got anything to eat?" He shouts from inside the fridge.
"Eeeepp!!!" The shriek comes from the doorway. "That's- You are- He is- OMG!" Darcy squeals. She runs up and hugs Nialls leg. "I love you Nialler," she says her in adorable little girl voice.
"Well I love you too, princess," He chuckles, picking her up.
"You're my favorite." She smiles confidently.
"Say, how would you like to meet the boys?" He winks.
"Really!?" She grins, her eyes watery with excitement. Niall nods in agreement before pulling out his phone and texting them to get over there.
"They'll be here in half an hour," He informs.
Darcy goes on talking about how she can make the best peanut butter sandwich in the world and she makes him one before they disappear into the living room to watch cartoons.
"How is it she's heard of them but you hadn't?" Marcel teases.
"Good question." I laugh. "Hey Marcel, you know I'm sorry that I kind of forced a change onto you. But you know you don't have to stay like this, especially around me, right?" I say nervously.
"I know, and honestly, it's fine. I would have loved you still whether or not you had offered," He hugs me.
I grab his hand and take him to my room before closing the door.
"Woah, if you wanted to do that, I would have at least come a little more prepared." Marcel jokes.
"Oh ha, ha, ha." I monotonely respond. "No I just wanted to talk to you about something." I sit down next to him.
"Alright, sure whatever you want to talk about," He nods.
Taking a deep breath I cautiously spill my thoughts, "Well everything kind of happened really fast and honestly I don't even know if we are or aren't a couple, we didn't make that distinction, we don't go on dates. I mean we act like best friends but we act like so much more and I don't even really know what we are. Marcel, what are we?" I look up at him.
"I thought we were a couple, but if you don't-" He replies.
"No, no. I want to, just, we're so... contradictory, we seem as if more than friends but less than lovers in everything we do. If you understand what I'm saying" I say, confused by my own response.
He nods a bit like he understands before looking up at me, "Want to go on a date?"
Butterflies burst from my chest as I refrain from jumping around and screaming. "Yeah," I smile, "yeah, I'd really like that."
"Then it's settled, we'll go tonight," He stands up like a super hero.
"Wait, I can't I have to babysit Darcy and Jack," I remember.
"Psh, the boys can take care of them." Marcel dismisses.
I smile to myself remembering this boy is all mine. Standing up on my tippy toes, I run my fingers through his hair and give him a quick peck on the lips.
"I love you," He says enthusiastically, hugging me tight and burying his face in my hair.
We exit my room to find Darcy sitting on the couch next to Niall copying his every move.
"Niall, can you and the boys do me a favor?" Marcel approaches the couch, holding my hand.
"Sure, what is it?" Niall looks away from the T.V.
"Can you guys watch Darcy and Jack tonight? I'm going to be taking Isabella on a date." He winks.
"Ah sure what time are you leaving?"
"1800 seconds after 7," Marcel smiles slyly.
"Oh come on man, you know I'm no good at math," Niall groans. Darcy crawls over and whispers in his ear.
"How many minutes after 7 is that?" Marcel pushes.
"Turdy," Niall gives in to his irish accent.
"Sorry I couldn't resist," Marcel playfully punches his arm.
"It's alright, anyways we'll watch them for you." Niall goes back to watching T.V. and eating.
"Babe, why don't you go and get ready? I've got some stuff to do." Marcel kisses me on the forehead. I refrain from skipping to my room as I think of our date in T-minus 2 hours.
I start with the shower, my hair can dry whilst I take forever on deciding what to wear. I turn the knob on the faucet and a rush of water spouts out. I let it run for awhile to warm it up before slipping in and letting it splash against my skin. I can't wait, the nerves build up as I try to drown them in soap so they can be whisked away down the drain. I sigh and smile and choke on butterflies and irregular heart beats. Tonight is going to be...
