Murder?

"That was the, um, hospital. Your father was in a car crash." She said voice cracking. I quickly grabbed the keys and dragged mom out of the door. This is not happening. I hope he's ok.

I made mom get in the passenger seat and I ran to the other side, started the car, and drove as fast as I could, legally of course. We reached the hospital in no time and rushed in. I ran to the counter and asked for Geoff Payne. After she looked at her screen she told me that he was still in surgery and that a doctor would be right out to talk to us. Mom and I sat in a chair and waited hoping for good news.

-Niall's POV

I ran upstairs to Emily's room and knocked.

"Please Emily open the door!" After a few minutes, I reached up and grabbed a key. Sorry Emily. I unlocked the door and opened it. When I walked in I noticed no one was there. I walked around the room and stopped when I saw something on her bedside table. A ring. I picked it up and tears sprung in my eyes. I really screwed up this time. I don't even know where she is.

I walked downstairs and to the other boys holding the ring in my hand. They were all in the kitchen as soon as I got there, everyone stopped any talking they were doing.

"She's not up there." I said quietly staring at the ground.

"Where is she then?" Liam asked. I saw Tori get up and walk to the window.

"Her car is gone. She must of left when she heard you guys come home."

"Where would she go? Every time something goes wrong she runs to a new spot. How will we ever find her?!" Louis yelled. He's right, but I shook my head and picked up my phone. I dialed her number and called her. No answer.

"Well let's just stay here. I think she just needed to be alone for awhile." Jaidyn said. It's worth a shot. I really need to fix what I did.

-Emily's POV

"Mr. Payne was in critical condition when the medics arrived. His car was hit by a big truck. The weird thing is, is that no one was driving it. A big rock was found on the speed pedal. We think someone was trying to kill Mr. Payne." I gasped as the police officer told us this. Before he came to talk to us the doctor did. He said that dad was still in surgery and they are trying the best they can to keep him alive.

I sat down on the chair besides me. Why would someone want to kill him. Why him. I put my head in my hands and started to cry. He didn't do anything! Why him!

*****30 minutes later****

"He is now out of surgery and in the ICU. You may go see him now but he is still unconscious. Oh and Mrs. Payne, can I talk to you privately." The doctor said. She nodded and I started to the ICU. I hope he will be alright.

When I get there, I am led to his bed. I see him and immediately start sobbing. I sit in the chair and hold his hand.

"Dad, please be ok!" I sob.

-Liam's POV

Ring. Ring. Ring. My phone starts to ring. "Hello?"

"Liam" My mom sobs.

"Mom what's wrong? What happened?" I asked

"Your father was in a car crash." She said sobbing. Can things get any worse today?

"What hospital?" She told me, and I ran out to my car and drove there. This was going to be a long drive.

******Skip drive*******

I run into the hospital, and see my mom sitting in a chair. I go to her.

"How is he? Where are is he?" I ask.

"He's not doing too well. I'm really worried." She said sobbing. I asked her to let me see him and she lead me the ICU.

As we neared his bed, I could see a figure besides him, holding his hand and crying. Emily.

"Mom, why didn't you tell me Emily was here with you? Everyone is worried sick about her."

"She came to my house before I got the call. She said she needs a break from everyone and I agree, so she is going to stay with me for a little bit." I nodded. I'm just happy she is safe.

I walked over to the bed and hugged Emily. She flinched and my touch and moved away from me. Ouch. That hurt.

"Emily, everyone is worried about you, why don't you go call them real quick?"

"NO! I AM NOT LEAVING DAD'S SIDE! DO YOU KNOW WHO DID THIS TO HIM?? HUH? HUH? BECAUSE I DO AND IT'S THE SAME PEOPLE WHO PUT ME THROUGH HECK!!" She yelled at me. What is she talking about?

"Mom is there something you didn't tell me?" She sighed.

"The police say that someone was trying to kill your father. The truck that hit him, had a Big rock stuck to the Gas pedal." What? Who would do that?

"Emily, who do you think it was?" I question.

"NO LIAM, I DON'T THINK, I KNOW!! IT WAS THEM!" She said them with so much distaste and then it hit me

Them. She thinks it's her "parents" and Mark. I nod my head and sit by dad. I hope he'll be okay. I really hope he doesn't die.

*****Few hours later*****

"Visiting hours are over, you guys need to leave." The nurse said. I nodded, understanding. I stood up and look at Emily. She stayed seated, not moving. I knew this would happen. The only time she got up today was to go to the bathroom.

"Emily, we have to go, we can come back tomorrow." She didn't move. The nurse walked in again and whispered in my ear,

"She can stay. I have been watching her and I knew that she wouldn't leave. I will have whoever is on the next shift keep an eye on her."

"Thank you so much!" I said to her.

"No problem, I'm glad to help." I smiled at her, said goodbye to Emily, and walked out the door.

When I got home, everyone rushed to me, well not everyone, and asked me where I went, and why I disappeared so suddenly.

"Everyone shut up. I left because my mom called and said that my dad was in a car crash. Of course I rushed to the hospital to find Emily already there at bedside. She said that someone was trying to murder him. They think it was Mark and Mr. and Mrs. Brooks." I told them.

"We totally freaked when you disappeared and when you wouldn't answer your phone. But, I am so sorry to hear about Geoff. You also said you saw Emily, where is she now?" Louis said.

"Thank you. And Emily is still at the hospital. They let her stay because she would not get up. The only time she ever did was to go to the bathroom once. Where's Niall?" Zayn told me he was in his room. I nodded and told them that I was going to go to bed.
Emily's POV.

I guess I fell asleep because I woke up to a fast beeping noise. I looked at dad and noticed that the heart monitor was speeding up. I ran out the door and to the nurse.

"Help! Something is wrong!" I told her. She alerted the other doctors and ran to his room. They wouldn't let me go back in. I stood, watching through the window and saw that they were doing things, I noticed that his heart beat was speeding up until it stopped. The tried to restart it, but it didn't work. I screamed and started balling.Some of the nurses had to restrain me from running into the room. I kept screaming, until I felt a sharp pain in my arm. I became really dizzy and started to fall. I closed my eyes and fell in a deep sleep.
