My class has just ended , and I had no classes the rest of the day. Maya and I were supposed to meet for lunch at 'cool cafe' as we call it, because we can't pronounce the real name. It was the only cafe we had been going to, so we never mixed it up.
I walked into the cafe and sat at the first open table I saw, which was in a perfect spot. Right by the window, yet also close to the door.
"Can I start you off with some breakfast, m'am?" I heard a familiar voice say. I quickly turned my head and noticed it was the brunette boy who had bumped into me earlier, Dylan.
"Oh, so you work here too?" I questioned in shock, raising an eyebrow and giggling. Ugh. I hate my laugh. It's very loud, and not subtle at all.
" that I do. Anyways, your order?" He replied flashing me a smile.
" just a black coffee for me and a latte for my friend who is on her way, please."
" sounds good. " he said nodding then walking away.
He was very attractive, and seemed sweet. He seems like someone I could have an intellectual conversation with.
"Here you go." he said quickly setting down the two cups at the table, and walking away.
I then saw Maya walking toward me and sitting down. "Hey, how's your morning going so far?" She said in a very irritated tone.
"Well, a random guy gave me his number and I received my new text books earlier." I said as I sipped my coffee, trying not to smile. Maya and I loved to tease each other that way.
"You did?! Go Riles!" She said as her mouth dropped open.
"How was your morning?" I asked as she sipped her latte, and looked at me irritated once again.
"Don't ask." She replied and I nodded with a understanding expression.
we then talked a while longer until our coffees along with three refills were consumed. Maya told me about how she thinks a boy in her AP English has a crush on her, yet she has a crush on her professor.
We then both parted our own ways and I quickly ran back to my dorm.
As I opened my door the room was empty, finally. Alone for a second.
I never felt comfortable in my room when Lucas was here, but I'm going to need to get over that.I needed time to think, so I decided I should go take a shower. Grabbing my need toiletries and towel, I Walk at a steady pace over to the women's bathroom and shower room.
I absolutely hated showering in the same room as other girls. The individual showers only had curtains to close them, but they were cheap and practically see through.
It had always been very intimidating to me, even the thought of another person seeing me naked. Just like any other girls, I had stretch marks, curves, ect.
I had just been very insecure.I go into the shower stall that's open, and close the curtain taking off my clothing and tossing them over the top of the curtain. I turn on the hot water and start washing. My fear of someone opening the curtain keeps running through my head.
As soon as I finish washing I turn the water off and grab my towel to start drying , and I suddenly feel like I had the wind knocked out of me.
I forgot my clothes.
Suddenly anxiety swallowed my mind whole. I froze.
"Hurry up! I have a class to get to!" A girl yelled at me, considering no other stalls were open.
"Just a minute.." I said shaking. I quickly look around for anything to wear, and realize I had my clothes I was wearing earlier.
As I grab them I realized They're absolutely soaked. They had fallen of the metal bar and onto the floor that was also soaked.. What am I gonna do?
I just have to put on the towel and run.
I quickly wrap the towel around me, tucking the ends at the top to keep it on . Alright, let's just hope I can get to my room quickly. Here we go.
I grab my clothes and dash, running out of the bathroom and down the hall trying not to drop anything, and never looking back.
I quickly open my door and run into someone going out just as I was coming in, making my towel drop .
Lucas.
