"Maya I told you, we love each other. It just happened okay?" I said into the phone, as I heard Maya groan. I felt Lucas's hand grip my thigh lightly, as we sat in his car.
"Maya hung up on me." I say setting my phone down on my lap, and putting my hand on top of Lucas's. Lucas bit his lip, and I could tell he didn't know what to say.
"It's fine. She'll get over it." I say with a smile. He nods at me and parks into the river area. There was no one around but us.
"Ready for this?" Lucas asks as he turns the key slightly, so the car isn't fully on but the radio's playing. I grin and turn up the volume so we can hear it outside of the car, and open the passenger door stepping out.
I walk toward the side of the water and slip off my shoes as I feel Lucas's hands on my sides behind me.
"Ready to slip this dress off?" He whispers in my ear. Underneath I'm wearing a two piece bathing suit, but as everyone knows I'm very uncomfortable with my body.
"No thank you." I say slipping out of his arms and jumping in the river water. Absolutely FREEZING river water. The rush hit me as I could feel Lucas jumping in next to me.
As I stand on the tip of my toes to peek above the water, I see Lucas running his hands through his wet hair. Damn, he's so stunning.
"Wanna take a picture? It'll last longer." Lucas says chuckling, breaking me from my stare. I begin to blush and playfully punch Lucas on his arm, making him laugh.
The music from the stereo blasts louder and I hear my favorite song begin to play. The strings play softly and I close my eyes, beginning to finger the strings of an imaginary harp. Finding the rhythm and humming the beautiful symphony slowly.
"Riley? What are you doing?" Lucas asks as I say set my finger Over my lips to silence him, and he listens muttering "okay."
I continue fingering the imaginary strings as the song kept playing loudly. This is what I've missed so dearly about home. The music, the harp, everything about it.
I felt my hands touching skin as I opened my eyes, and saw Lucas staring down at me in between my hands.
"Keep going." He whispered as I nodded and closed my eyes again. The strings became more intense, causing my fingers to move faster. The pads of each finger brushing up against Lucas's bare torso.
I began humming louder and moving my fingers slower as the music began to slow down. The song finally finished and I opened my eyes to see Lucas smiling down at me.
"You really can feel the music, can't you?" Lucas asks grinning, as I nod chuckling.
Alright Riley, this is a moment. One that you won't want to miss, cherish and enjoy it. I bit my lip in thought, and finally decided what I wanted to say.
"You could feel the Music with me?" I ask with a grin as Lucas raises an eyebrow with a smirk. He slowly nods and walks around to the back of me. Lucas snakes his arms around my waist and intertwines our hands. I suddenly feel his wet and cold torso up against my back, as our body heat begins to warm me.
The next song started and it was a Beethoven symphony, one of my favorites at that. My eyes closed and my hands began to move with Lucas's hands attached. I began fingering the music slowly, and I could hear Lucas humming in my ear deeply making me grin.
I fingered the imaginary harp faster until the music suddenly stopped, but I didn't care. I remembered the song note for note and just continued. Lucas of course stopped humming, because he didn't know the song. But damn, he played with me.
The song finally ended as Lucas leaned down from behind and planted a soft kiss on my forehead.
"Ready?" He whispered as I nodded. He let go of me and we began to walk out of the water and up to the car.
"Wait, why did the music stop?" I asked with a puzzled look. Lucas looked at me in confusion, then his face dropped in frustration. He groaned and walked faster to his car, getting in the driver seat.
He stuck the key in the ignition and turned it as no sound comes from the car. He turns the key once more and received the same results.
"Lucas, what's going on?" I question as Lucas rolls his eyes.
"The damn battery died."
