Sports isn't really my thing. I never seemed to have a problem watching it but every time I did, I'd get so bored with it.

But right now I was entertained.

Reese was on the soccer field, playing a sport she loved with no doubt. She played with determination and confidence. Every time she kicked the ball, she kicked with with fierce. She had everything she wanted at this very moment.

Including her friends that were sitting on the bleachers, cheering her on.

Heidi had her arm on top of my shoulder as she held me close. Rick was munching on a Burger while screaming Reese on the top of his lungs.

The whistle blew and Reese stopped. Her hair that was shaved on the sides was in a bun and sweat trickled down her face. Drips of it bounced off every time she moved.

"Nice Job, Ellington. I can see you being on the team," Coach Alexis told her. Reese smiled while trying to catch her breath.

When her eyes left her Coach and went towards us. She gave us a toothy smile before running towards us.

"Oh my God, I was so nervous. Did I do good?" She asked. I was about to answer her but Rick decided to do that for me. "You did fucking awesome!" Rick practically screamed into my ear.

"Thanks. Oh and Rick, it's only try-outs. No need to scream every time my foot touches the ball," Rick nodded like a four year old who is being asked if they want candy.

"I have to get back. Bye Rick. Heidi. See ya, Braids." She gave me a wink before she ran back to the field. Heidi scoffed at her.

She hasn't called me braids for a while now.

It's also been a while since she's been happy. She was upset for like a whole 2 weeks but ever since soccer try outs came up, she's been focused and happy.

Maybe soccer is her happiness.

"You know, I'm sure she's going to make the team. She's real good. So let's just go to my house-" I cut Heidi off. "No, we're staying until try outs are over. I promised I'd be here. Besides, I owe her," I explained.

Heidi turned away to roll her eyes but she was so bad at hiding it.

What was her problem with Reese anyways? When they met, they were alright with each other and now Reese rarely talks to her. Doesn't even give any eye contact while Heidi is giving her the cold shoulder.

I sighed and looked at Reese, who was smiling brightly as she kicked the ball.

She looked so cute with her sheepish smile.

After try outs, Heidi and I decided to go to her house.

I haven't been there in ages.

When we arrived, I saw a woman who looked like she was in her mid forties. She had curly short hair and her hair was the same color as Heidi's.

Standing in front of me was Georgia Franco. She was a director for a bunch of hit movies.

"Hey Mom. You remember Nova?" Georgia looked away from the television and when she saw me, she grinned. "Well if it isn't Nova Barnes. Adam and Lily's daughter. Well haven't you aged!" She stood up and gave me a big hug.

It has definitely been a while. "I thought I was going to be seeing you at the ball but I guess not," She stated. I furrowed my eyebrow. "Ball? What ball?"

"The first annual Ellington Ball. Being held at The Ellington Residence. They've been planning this for a while, I heard. Its in a week from now," she explained. I looked at Heidi, but she only shrugged.
