Just a warning. This chapter will be long but I've done this on purpose.
There is a method to madness

After ending my last class off on a bad note, I was left in a sour mood. My students had the nerve to participate in a stupid student walk-out that was advertised on twitter knowing they were in an exam.
I swear, sometimes I hate freshman I thought
While gathering my things together my phone began to ring
"Hello" I snapped
"Damn girl. Who pissed in yo' cereal today" my sister Tahara laughed.
"Sorry Tahara, I had a bad day at work" I sighed.
"Those lil puberty monsters givin' you a headache"
"Mhm. But I'll be fine. Anyways what's up. I haven't spoken to you in a while"
"Nothin' much. Calvin still .. he's still Calvin"
"Tahara, I don't understand why your still with him. You know he ain't shit. Let him go" I preached
"It's easier said then done Kam. I love him too much which is sad as hell. Every time I try, I always end up running back to him" she said
"Okay. Clearly this is something we need to talk about face to face so how about we meet up for lunch at Nando's today. Maybe at 3:30" I suggested
"Sounds perfect. See you later then. Love you"
"Love you too" I replied
I walked out to my car and drove home listening to TLC by Sy Ari Da Kid. By the time I reached my apartment, it was 3:00 which only gave me 30 minutes to get ready.
I took a quick shower and got dressed. I got to Nando's a little before 3:30 and spotted Tahara sitting at a table waiting for me.
I walked behind her and put my hands over her eyes and said "Guess who" in a deep voice
"Bitch, get yo got damn hands off me. You fuckin' up my eyeliner" she shrieked.
I laughed loudly taking a seat across from her.
"So what's up girl. How you been" I asked
"Good I guess. Calvin still think my ass cheating" she sighed "every time I go out this nigga always askin' me questions like he some type of detective"
"Why don't you just drop him. He isn't good for you Tahara. You need a man that's going to support your hustle, encourage you, and simply hold you down. He doesn't do any of those things" I rambled
"I hear what your saying. I honestly do, but it's easier said then done. As much as I don't want to, I still love him and I can't let him go" she said not looking up from the menu.
"Well if you can't help yourself, how can I. So I'm going to leave that decision to you. Anyways, how is Hazel. I haven't heard from her in a while" I said.
Hazel is our baby sister. We're very close. Though she didn't live very close to Tahara and I in Queens, New York, she visited when she could and called often. So not to hear from her was a little strange.
"She's with that new boyfriend of hers. You know she don't know how to act when she gets a new man"Tahara said.
As we began to talk about Hazel and her new man when our waiter came.
