"What do you mean 'in their temple'?!" Sideswipe said, his voice rising in surprise. "Wouldn't we have to go through the front? And with that house in the way, we can't fit through!"
"Oh, calm down Sideswipe!" Bumblebee said. "This is where me and the rest of Team Prime stayed when we were here twenty years ago. We found a way to get in."
Ruby rubbed her right hand on the side of the hill; she looked a bit concerned.
"A little accident happened here on this side of the temple around nearly a year ago. But I'm pretty sure the old girl still works!"
Peridot dropped her head a little, feeling ashamed. But Steven gave her a big hug and whispered "it's not your fault" to try to make her feel better.
"So how did you guys fit in here?" Russell asked; his carry-on bag and the small cardboard box were still under his arms.
"You see, their temple has a little, uh... secret." Bee said, he crouched down next to the Gems. "They have a magical passageway for big visitors, like Cybertronians."
"Rose believed that this was a 'must-have' when we first created the temple." Pearl said. "She, unbelievably, never told us why; but, after a couple of thousands of years with the temple, we understood why."
"We're able to use our gems to open the ol' puppy up." Amethyst said. "And, inside, you can go to any room with that Gem!"
Steven's eyes got starry.
"Woah! Can I do it?! Can I go into Mom's room?!"
"I don't know, Steven." Sapphire said. "It takes a lot of concentration to make this passageway. We nearly use all of our powers just to unlock it."
Steven's shoulders slumped.
"Oh," he said.
Peridot put her hand on his shoulder and rubbed for comfort.
"So," Ruby said, she rubbed her hands together. "Should we show our guests to where they'll be staying?"
Everyone nodded at the same time; the Gems gathered in a circle. They were about to hold each other's hands, until the sound of another vehicle came their way. The engine stopped as the sound of a car door opened.
"Were you guys expecting company?" Strongarm asked.
"Nope." Grimlock answered.
"Steven!" A very familiar low male voice called. "Anybody home?"
Steven knew that voice all too well.
"Dad," he asked.
He ran all the way towards the front of the temple to find his father and his "Mr. Universe" van right there in front of the house.
"Hey, Dad!" Steven said; at the other end of the house, he waved his arm to get his dad's attention.
Greg saw his son and smiled.
"Hey, kiddo!"
Greg made his way to where he was at the end house and gave him a hug.
"What are you doing on this side of the hill?" Greg asked with a smile. "And where are the others?"
"Well- oh, yeah!" Steven grabbed his dad's arm and started pulling him down the right side of the hill. "There are these people I want you to see! I think you've met them before."
"Oh," said Greg as his son dragged him. "So they're the hot shots."
"What?" Steven asked, he stopped pulling fiercely on his father's arm.
