Chapter 31

Nicki grabbed her clutch bag and took one last look in the mirror. She was dressed in a black floaty one armed dress which came upto about mid thigh and was tight around her thighs and her wrist. It also had silver gems around her wrist and at the top near her neck. He hair was in a high ponytail and she had curled it. She had kept her makeup light and was wearing six inch silver high heels. To accessorise she had put on her 'Onika' bracelet, her D&G watch and her broken heart necklace.

She headed downstairs and said goodbye to her parents. She was going to be sleeping round Lauren's after the party and had taken her clothes and stuff over there in the afternoon. She headed out the door and found drake waiting for her , standing against his car.

She walked over to him and they shared a hug.

Drake: you look beautiful

Nicki: thanks

She blushed.

Nicki: you look very handsome yourself sir

Drake: I try

They laughed.

Drake: you set to go

Nicki: yup

He moved out of the way and opened the door for her and shut it after she got in. He then went and got in on his side and they drove to Cassie's.

The party was filled with people from their school. They had decided on making a fruit punch and only putting a little bit of vodka so people didnt get too waisted. They also had a few other soft drinks incase people didn't want the fruit punch.

Nicki and drake instantly went and found the others.

Nicki: hey guys

Cassie: hey love birds

Nicki: you can't actually call us that because we're not together

Amber: but we saw you kiss the other day

Drake: so you were spying on us

Ciara: maybe we were

Nicki: well your assumptions were wrong.

Drake: we're not together

Omarion: aren't you still with -

Drake: nope we ended it

Cameron: how come

Drake: too long of a story

Kaeleb: fair enough

Cassie: and you two still aren't together

Nicki&Drake: no

Amber: something's not right

Ciara: mm hmm

Nicki and drake just laugh.

Nicki: do you want a drink

Drake: sure

Nicki: hold this for me for a sec

She passed him her clutch and he went and took a seat now getting glares from everyone.

Drake: what ?

Amber: what are you not telling us

Drake: no we're serious we're not together. We're just friends

Omarion: but why ? We all know you wanted to get back together

Lauren: yea

Drake: well I only broke up with the jade the other day and we haven't really been and considered being together yet

Safaree: why don't I believe you

Drake: believe what you like

Nicki then came back and sat next to him.

Nicki: there you are sir

Drake: why thank you

He passed her bag back to her and she handed him his drink. Everyone was watching them intently.

Nicki: nice isn't it

Drake: yeah which one is it

Nicki: fruit punch. With a hint of vodka

They smirked at each other. Christopher Gray then walked over to their table.

Chris: hey nic

Nicki: hey what's up

Chris: can I maybe get a dance

Nicki: sure

She put her drink on the table and passed her bag to drake then got up and went to dance. Drake didn't even seem bothered by the situation and continued drinking his drink.

Safaree: and that doesn't bother you at all

Drake: nope

Omarion: not even the tiniest bit

Drake: nah

Amber: looks like they really aren't going out

Drake laughed

Drake: we told you before. We're not together

Lauren: ask her to dance when she gets back

Candi: yeah ask her to dance

The whole table agreed.

Drake: fine.

It wasn't long before nicki got back. She sat down back next to drake. Everyone was watching him but he decided to give her a few minutes. Cassie then cough getting his attention

Drake: nic come dance with me

Nicki: okay

He passed her bag along to ciara as she took his hand and lead him to the dance floor.

The group watched them as they danced.

TT: you can see the difference between the way she danced with chris and how she's dancing with drake

Cassie: my point exactly

Drake had his hands on her hips as she had her back to him as she moved against him to Lil Wayne's 'Lollipop'. He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on neck she closed her eyes and bit her lip.

Safaree: and they say they're not together

Amber: well hello friends with benefits

They all laughed.

When they looked back they found nicki and drake were no longer on the dance floor.

Lauren: where have they gone now

Candi: who knows...

Nicki and drake were standing outside getting some fresh air. Niki was wearing drakes blazer as she was getting cold.

Drake: you know thy wont stop questioning me

Nicki: they're just surprised that we actually aren't together even after you've broken up with jade

Drake: yeah I know

They continued their talk for a while before deciding to head back inside.

A few hours later ...

Everyone was now out in the back waiting for midnight so they could start with the fireworks.

Nicki and drake had isolated themselves from everyone else and had gone out into the front.

Drake: it's almost time

Nicki: I know

Drake: nic can I ask you something

Nicki: yea sure go ahead

Drake: will you go out with me again ?

He had his hands in his pockets and nicki could tell he was nervous.

Nicki: I dunno brey. I mean you only just broke up with jade two days ago and I don't want to be seen as desperate

Drake: well they don't have to know. Our relationship has nothing to do with them and look at us in Hawaii. There was no arguments and no problems.

He moved closer to her.

Nicki: I don't know

Drake: it's okay nic. It's just us. Nobody else need to know it stays between me and you

They could hear the 10 second countdown.

Nicki: yeah ?

Drake: yeah

He put his hands on her waist and slowly leaned closer to her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and they shared a kiss right as the fireworks went off.

They pulled away and laughed.

Drake: I love you

Nicki: I love you too

They shared another kiss. When they pulled away nicki leant in closer to drake and he just held her in his arms as they watched the fireworks go off.

Drake: it feels great knowing I have you back

Nicki: you too

She moved her arms to around his waist as they just stood. She then turned her head round to face him as he did the same.

Nicki: lets go for a walk

Drake: why not

They joined hands with their fingers interlocking. They started their walk going along the path.

Drake: I missed this

Nicki: did you never do this jade

Drake: she's not the type

Amber: where's nic

Kaeleb: where's drake

Cassie: told you something wasn't right

Ciara: but we came to the conclusion that they weren't together so why assume things

Omarion: but who said they weren't lying

Cameron: but they're not the type to hide their relationship

Lauren: for all we know they could be at different places

Candi: that's true because we don't know for sure that they're together

Everyone agreed.

Drake and nicki had just arrived back at cassies.

Drake: gimme a kiss before we go back in

They leaned in and shared a quick kiss. She then took off his blazer and gave it back to him before she went back inside. He waited a little while so it didnt seem suspicious...

Cassie: here she is

Ciara: where you been bew

Nicki: out in the front.

Amber: and where's drake

Nicki: don't know.

Candi: don't lie

Nicki: I'm not. I dunno where he is.

Lauren: hmm

Nicki: what ? Are you guys still making assumptions that we're together

No one answered.

Nicki: take that as a yes

Just then drake walked back in.

Omarion: and here he is

Drake: what did I miss

Amber: more like what did we miss

Drake: I don't understand

Nicki: they're still assuming things

Drake: oh well you didn't miss anything cuz I was on the phone upstairs.

Cameron: and who to

Drake: Noah

TT: okay guys I think we should just drop it. They clearly weren't together and we're just paranoid.

They all laughed. Everyone went back to enjoying the party and nicki and drake discreetly smirked at each other. They held hands under the table and continue to enjoy what was left of the party ...
