4 hours. I have waited 4 fucking hours for him to be done with surgery. Once he was out, I went and sat with him in his room. His pale skin showed his veins really well, so I spent two straight hours tracing them over and over again.
A nurse walked in after a while to check on him, so I stopped. I noticed how sunken in his eyes were, and how thin he got

I studied his face for a bit, and once the nurse told me to leave I squeezed his hand and gave him kiss. For a split second I felt him squeeze back, but the nurse ushered me out before I could react

"Please call me if anything happens." I said to the nurse

"OK Ms. Dolan, we'll keep you posted."

And with that I was off still holding on to the hope of him waking up
