I peeked around the corner. Nervous about what I might find next. It's another empty room. Thank goodness no monsters. I climb up a flight of steps and creep through the next door. In the room are a series of buttons on the floor and a sign on the wall. The sign directed to not touch the buttons in between. I clicked all the buttons except the buttons down the middle. After clicking the last button the door swung open. I was getting a bit more confident. I strutted into the next chamber on the far side is a passage with spikes. They didn't seem passable. On the closer wall were two levers. It seemed the levers might deactivate the spikes. I walked up to the devices. One was labeled in red permanent marker. 'Humans press this switch' Although it seemed a tad bit suspicious I reached out to pull the lever. "NOOOO!!!" yelled a voice. Something pushed me sideways. I fell, My arms swung wildly, smacking the lever down. The lever activated a trapdoor which opened up into a chamber of spikes. Whoever pushed me must've known about the trap. A small yellow flower appeared in front of me. "Sorry about the push. Hope It didn't hurt too much..." it did hurt. My rear end ached as a sat on it. "You have to be more cautious!" He was right. I fell for a dumb trick. I slapped my Palm into my forehead. "Wug. I'm so stupid." I groaned. "Just be extra careful and you should be fine." Flowey flew back into the floor. I shakily stood up still stunned from the fall. I flicked the other switch timidly hearing a ka-chunk I turned to see the spikes locked into the ground. I cautiously leapt over the area where the spikes used to be. Worried that they might reactivate and impale me. In the next area sat a lone training dummy. Cotton spewing out the seams. Timidly, I approached the dummy, it's bead eyes staring into mine. I waved my hands past it's face to make sure it was actually inanimate. I began to talk to the dummy. I told it my questions my concerns. About my hopes and my dreams. It felt good to get some stuff off my chest and i peace standing straighter. As I was walking out I heard something along the lines of "I'm tired of your aimless shenanigans" I whirled around to see the dummy missing. Wierd. Had it even been there? Or was it all just a hallucination? Dazed I wandered on finding an empty room and to the left a platform of spikes. There were no levers or buttons, there was a sign it read: "the room on the left is this rooms blueprint." Did that mean the faintly visible path below me was how to walk across the spikes? It was worth a shot. I memorized the path and headed over to the platform. I winced as I put my foot down on the first step. When my foot got far enough the spikes shot down. I recited the path in my mind and made it to the other side. I was proud of myself, but my brain was also tired and aching. I decided to take a break. Maybe a nap. I sat down I closed my eyes. . . . "HEY!! WAKE UP!!!" ...!
My eyes fluttered open and I flew off the ground. "Who's there?" I asked "it's me flowey" I looked down. There he was. "Hey, it's dangerous to take naps in the middle of this place." He said concern in his voice "why?" I asked quizzically. "This place is a cavern full of monsters on the hunt for human blood!" He exclaimed. "But I haven't seen any monsters." I said feeling confused. "Not yet you haven't but you're close to the area where the all gather, and if they found out a human was nearby? Buddy. You'd wake up to your brains being ripped out." "You don't need to be so gruesome." I said covering my head with my hands. "It's only the truth." He said shrugging his petals. "Well, we better get a move on" he said and then popped right back into the ground. "Easy for you to say." I groped. "I can hear you." Echoed floweys voice. I tolled my eyes. At least he couldn't see that. In the next chamber was a long hallway. Really long. I walked and walked and walked until the end was in view. Near the end on the left wall was a peculiar pillar. "Strange architecture." I mumbled. I was nearly out the room when suddenly a black blur flew out from behind the pillar. When I got a better look it was Toriel the witch lady. "There you are" she cackled. Her small dark pupils stared into mine. "My child, you have done excellently completing these puzzles so far. I've been watching you complete them. Hee hee." She giggled. Toriel didn't seem so bad. Maybe flowey was the just scared of Toriel because of her size over him. "But what about the thing of eating humans?" My brain questioned. She was probably making a joke, after all she WAS a funny little lady. "I know this was only a brief introduction but I have to go run some errands. You stay here, my child. It's dangerous to go alone. Also take this." Toriel gave my a small black flipphone. "This is so I can keep tabs on you at ALL times. Hee hee!" She giggled. "Hey um To-" I began but then stopped. She never told me her name. She would know I was eavesdropping if I said 'Toriel.' What could I call her? Witch lady? Miss? She had called me 'my child' so I settled for mom. "Hey mom!" I repeated. "How long will your errands take?" She smiled at me. "Did you just call me mother?" She asked sweetly. "Well if that would make you happy, you can call me whatever you'd like. Oh by the way my name is Toriel." She still hadn't answered my question. "Um about my quest-" Toriel glanced at her wrist and shrieked "OH LOOK AT THE TIME I SHOULD GO!" She exlaimed and ran off at lightning speed. Flowey popped out of the ground. "Uh. Howdy. I see you formally met Toriel. But. It's uh. Better if you stayed away from her." He said "what? Why? She seems like such a nice lady." I asked. Flowey gave me an annoyed look. "Well truth be told she's not a nice lady. Uh, at all." I squinted at him. "You can't just say that about someone. Maybe she treats you badly because YOU'RE not nice." I exclaimed "Hey now I'm only trying to-" began flowey. But I interrupted him. "No! You just want me to be friends with you and only you! Maybe if you thought of other people than maybe Toriel might like you!" Flowey looked angry as he popped back into the floor. Frusturated, I stormed off into the next room.
