"SPIDER BAKE SALE" I peeked around the corner. Neat little webs lined the wall. Little spiders caring jugs and donuts to other little spiders. "GET EM HOT N FRESH!! WHILE DEY LAST!!" I fished around in my backpack. No money but perhaps I could barter. After all those donuts looked really appetizing. I crouched down in front of a web. "Hello." I said shyly. "Ey." The spider grunted. I crouched there awkwardly not knowing what to say next. "Well ya gunna buy sum'in?" "Er well" I stammered. "I was kind of wondering if we could come to a sort of trade..." "Does 'is look like a pawn shop?" He grumbled. "Well no but, I'll trade all of these for just one donut." I opened my clenched fist revealing the multicolored monster candies. "Well I'll be darned" murmured the spider. "Yes dat'll suffice." He swiped the candies off my open palm and tossed me a donut with purple icing. "Thank you!" I flashed a grin. "Yeah yeah, if dis' wasn' business yer'd be dead were yer' standin'." He growled "now be gone!" I stood up dusted my shorts and walked off. (Possibly stepping on a few spiders) The next few rooms were free from all life forms. It was eerie. I had seen at least a few Froggits in previous rooms but had avoided them after my encounter with crazy old mustard seed. But now no one was there. I walked and walked solving puzzles falling down holes until- "There it is." Someone was whispering. But there wasn't a person to place the voice with. The room was entirely empty. I walked down the corridor and was suddenly attacked by a swarm of flies and butterflies. "Ah!" I yelped waving my arms in the air. In the midst of the swarm I hadn't seen the group ahead of me. Clogging up the hall was a group of sinister looking monsters of all shapes and sizes. There were some that looked like rings of Jell-O some that looked like butterfly fairies some that looked like roaches and one eyed cabbages and some froggits. When the saw that I acknowledge they were there they charged. "Yipes!" I screeched and ran off. They were hot on my tall. Bugs and bullets zipping past me, biting me scratching me. I took a sharp turn into the previous room. It consisted of levers and pillars. I couldn't run forever. The rooms eventually ended. But I can hide. I pulled the nearest lever and a trapdoor opened beneath me dropping into a deep pit before closing off and the top. I heard loud voices chorusing above that eventually faded as they ran off into the next room. I let out a sigh of relief, but also stress. Sure I had escaped but now I was stuck in a dark pit. I soon realized that there were no doors on the walls or floor. However what I did realize was that the walls were fairly narrow. This was going to be tricky. I pushed my back against the wall and kicked my feet up to touch the opposite wall. I hiked my feet upwards until they were as high as they could reach, then scooted my back upwards. It took a lot of strength and effort and I had barely done anything yet. I repeated the process. Hike my legs up. Scoot my back up. Hike my legs up. Scoot my back up.
Hike legs up. Scoot back up.
Hike legs up. Scoot up
Hike legs.
Scoot up.
Hike legs...
Scoot...
Hike...
Scoot....
Eventually it just became a muffled back and forth argument in my brain until-
"Scoot my- OW!"
I had smacked my head on something. The door! I pushed on the ceiling as hard as I could until I realized. Oh no.
It was a slide door. No no no. My legs were wobbling. I shot my hand into my pocket. Please find something useful. Then my hand grasped something cold and hallow. The knife. I yanked it out and instinctively stabbed it into the tiny space in between the door and the wall and pushed. The knife pryed the door open and I crawled my way out. My eyes stung in the light readjustment. How long had I been in there? Best to not dwell on it. However long, the group of baddies were soon going to realize the we're chasing nothing if they already hadn't. I darted back into the hall. Beep Beep red alert! A voice blared. I looked at the source of the sound. In a Crack in the wall was an ant sized froggit with a walkie talkie. I immediately heard thundering footsteps behind me. I dashed towards a small house. I ran up to the door and jiggled the knob. Locked. I turned around to see the massive mob flooding into the room. I banged on the door hoping someone would open. Seeing the monsters closing in I pushed on the door as hard as I could trying to push it in when it opened from the inside causing me to fall in. It was Toriel. I leapt to my feet and fled behind her back holding her coal black dress. "What is this?!" She screeched. "Erm ah Toriel, fancy seeing you here we were uh..." miserably explained a froggit at the front. "LEAVE!" She screamed. They didn't have to ask twice as the darted over each other on their way out. "Kid, sorry you had to see that." Said Toriel turning to look at me. She gestured with her hand to the little house I had previously been trying to escape to. "Welcome!" She said. "Welcome home."
