The night with Alex was definitely necessary. I missed him and our long talks. He has a honest opinion but is also very loyal and understanding. He understood a lot of my past; what I did and why, which made me very happy. He told me also what happened with his life and the life of the town citizens after I left.
We were in the restaurant he took me, for hours; I think we were one of the last people that left. Alex told me that it was Rob's work and that he established that restaurant right after he finished the diner. The restaurant also called "Nancies" was a lovely, rustical and old decorated house near the forest. It had a really nice French flair which made it even more interesting and very delicious by the way, I have not the slightest clue how the French can cook and bake like that.
After we decided that it would be time now to leave the restaurant, it was one in the morning, and to give the people who work there at least a little bit of sleep. We walked home because we were too drunk to drive which made it even more hilarious. It was a nice night; the stars were shining and you could see the half full moon.
I hugged and thanked Alex for that night and went to bed; all I remember is slipping off my high heel stilettos and just fall into the bed, without getting out off my dress or my makeup.
And I regretted it the next morning, believe me.
I will never really get that make up off my pillow.
It was Monday morning and I slept longer than I actually wanted to. I took a shower and suddenly remembered that I had to look after the tissue James, the D Bite guy, gave me. We had arranged to meet at the coffee shop in Kensington Street at three. I just put on a simple slim black jeans and a white top and my usual sneakers. I walked downstairs as I heard people in the kitchen making breakfast. As I came into the kitchen I saw Chad making eggs and bacon for everyone. I sat down on a chair next to David who was sitting there alone.
"Morning Am. Slept well?" He just asked casually and looked up from his cellphone.
"Couldn't have been better and you?"
"Slept like a baby." I laughed and saw Chad's tortured face while cooking bacon. "I hope he does not burn the precious bacon." I said and looked at David who seemed to have
the same thought.
"I rather eat nothing and buy myself a bagel or something later than eating burned bacon." I rolled my eyes. "Come on, let him have his time. I think for him it's even worse because he put the hate of all people here on him." I looked back at Chad. "By the way what are you doing today?"
He didn't look good. His usually dark skin had a green shimmer and he looked sick. He seemed like he missed a lot of sleep the last days and his shining brown eyes which have sparkles in them, just looked tired and sad.
"Nothing really, have to pick up Mary from the airport, you remember Mary?I told you about her, she is my best friend." When he nodded I continued. "She is going to stay a few days and maybe move here."
"She seems to be important to you." He said. "Yeah she is." I looked back at David. "And I have a date in a few hours."
"Amy, Amy, you have been here for how long? Three days? And you already found someone. I am impressed." He raised his brows and the sad lock in his eyes disappeared.
"And who is it?" He asked curiously. Just in that moment Rob came into the room and took the place across from me.
David smiled at him slightly amusedly and said "Amy has a lover."
I looked back from Rob to David and hit him playfully on the arm. "I don't have a lover you douche bag."
"Outch" David rubbed his arm. His mood seemed to light up a bit and he smiled happily. "You hit like your brother."
