The Morning Calm

I happened to write this on a fine winter morning when I  got up to study for my exams. Have a good time! God bless :)

Calm as the morning was,

Cold and hushing silence

I woke up for a quick glance

Only to get caught in the enchanting essence

The branches are barren without leaves

Some leaves have given in to their plight

Peeping through the window I see.

The land before me calm and quiet

The tiny kid nestles closer

Wrapped by the warmth of a huge wing

Drifting away to her own paradise

Dreaming how merrily she can sing.

Slowly her dreams vanish and she wakes

Chirping her day's welcome call

Soon the majestic Sun rose

Spreading His life and light to all.

Heeding this call I went

Mesmerized yet by how the morning was

It rang in me suddenly like a bell

That I hadn't learnt my Dihybrid Cross!
