Accept or Decline

After spending a few seconds debating which to tap, Dan realised that this may be his only lead to finding out who was messaging him and so he chose to accept.

"Hello?" Dan answered, voice wavering from nerves.

"Dan?! Are you okay? Oh god" a guy's voice replied in a fluster.
But Dan recognised that voice. He definitely recognised it.

"I'm fine"  the seventeen year old lied, checking for the third time that his door was locked.

"You sure?" Replied the guy, sounding caring.

"Yeah"

"Good" unknown muttered before a beep was heard and Dan realised that he'd hung up on him.

To: Unknown
From: Dan🔥

Thanks for caring. Not many people do xx

Howell locked his phone and threw it down on his bed, actually quite annoyed at the fact that Unknown had just hung up, not speaking to him properly.

His phone buzzed, indicating he's got a text but he ignored it, laying back on his bed and closing his eyes.

"Daniel James Howell let me in this instance!" Screamed his mother, panicking him.

He rushed to the door, opening it and letting her storm in.

She was shouting words that you wouldn't want your eight year old hearing, making his body tremble wildly.

"You know what Daniel?!! I want you out by the time I'm back from the club" she hissed before storming out of the room.

Usually his mother would be gone until early hours of the morning, even when she did leave early evening and so he sighed.

Dan was packing by six, wanting to get out as soon as he could to avoid any risks of his mother coming home to see him still there.
The boy had absolutely no idea where he'd go but he had to get out, even if it did mean he'd be sleeping rough on the streets.

He stuffed some clothes and blankets, A couple of books and his glasses into his rucksack, throwing in ransoms that he thought he may need before grabbing a long-sleeve shirt and changing into it and throwing his short-sleeve one into his bag.

Dan finally came to his phone to see the message from Unknown that he'd ignored earlier that evening;

To: Dan🔥
From: Unknown

I'll always care x

Dan sighed and slipped his phone into his bag along with a ten pound note that he'd managed to steal from his mother.

He threw his bag over his shoulder, onto his back and made his way down the stairs in loads of pain.

As the seventeen year old walked down the front path of his house, he noticed Phil sat in his own front garden.

"Oi Howell! Where're you off to? Look like you're running away from home, you do" Lester shouted to the boy making him sigh.

"Nowhere" the geek told the punk boy, walking along the path in front of the rebellious boy's house.

"You sure?" He asked, suddenly sounding caring and... Familiar.

Why was Phil's caring voice sounding familiar? Phil was never caring...
