When we went to school the next morning, something was off. "Is Sensei ever late like this?" Hanayuu mused. I shook my head and whispered, "Never." I looked out the window, slightly worried. What could have happened to make Sensei so late... Hanayuu was looking at me, an expression of concern was written all over her face. "Are you...thinking about that time again? Back when...Kazu-nee fought by our side? And your sister too... But... I can't bear to see you so depressed, Yuzu-chan! So please... Don't make such a sad face! We'll see Kazu-nee again soon!
Sensei never showed up. Later in the day, the principal came and informed us that Sensei had died. Apparently, she'd jumped from the roof of her building this morning. Our beautiful, happy Sensei... There's no way she'd have done that voluntarily. When Hanayuu pointed that out, though, the principal only said that some things went deeper than just the surface. "Are you SERIOUSLY trying to tell us that our Sensei, who was the happiest person alive, wasn't content with life?!" Seeing Hanayuu's expression of rage mixed with sadness hurt me. "No! I won't accept it! Yuzuki, come on!" She stormed out of the room and, without waiting for anyone to give me permission to leave, I followed her. She thought that a witch might have caused this, so we were off to the scene of the crime: Sensei's apartment building.
