Manic the Hedgehog (Unfinished)

Capter Nineteen - Panic in the Hall of Heros

Everyone in the room screamed in horror as the roof caved in and a giant robot's crashed into the center of the room, just beside the massive Sonic statue and standing a couple feet taller than it. A man's maniacal laughter came from the center of the robot.
Eggman's hoverchair had been built to fit inside the chest of the large robot, and there he sat.
Sonic looked up in shock at first, then his eyebrows furrowed. "Eggman..." he mumbled.
Mikey's jaw dropped. He stared up at the robot as a hint of excitement lingered in him because he knew exactly who it was. Mikey side-glanced Sonic, then looked at the other people standing around and hid the hint of joy he felt with a scared expression.
Everyone's attention was on Eggman.

" Awww, what's this? A party? " Eggman yelled with a smirk. " And I was uninvited? Oh, why doesn't anyone ever invite the villains ! It hurts our feelings you know.." He said sounding overly dramatic.
" What are you doing here Eggman?! " Sonic yelled as his friends came up beside him.
Eggman looked around the room, and caught a glimpse of someone in the shadows and grinned widely as he stared back at Sonic. " Oh... Just came here to retrieve something...."
Manic gulped as a chill went down his spine. Did Eggman see him? ' Wait... Retrieve something... The medallion!' He had to be here for the medallion!
" It's because of you my entire Egg fleet was destroyed and why my plans are always foiled! " Eggman continued pointing an accusing finger at Sonic." This time you will pay for it, hedgehog!"
The robot's arm suddenly extended out pointing directly at the blue hedgehog and glowed bright red.
" Uhhh...." Mikey's eyes widened as he froze in place. But Sonic stood strong and fearless staring into the gun. Within a couple seconds, Sonic grabbed Mikey's arm and sprinted out of the way just as it fired, his friends avoiding the blast as well. " Everyone run! Leave now!" Sonic ordered the crowd. Mikey made a run for it along with the civilians toward the emergency exit, but Manic pulled Mikey into the shadows with him and told him wait as they watched the fight scene begin.

" Knuckles, think you can get that gun arm?" Sonic questioned the echidna at his side.
Knuckles smirked. " Got it!"
Sonic looked at Eggman and grinned. " Oh come on Egghead, you can do better than that! " He teased.
" Oh you haven't seen anything yet. " Eggman said. He began shooting at Sonic rapidly this time. As Eggman focused on Sonic, Knuckles climbed up the robot and up onto its gun-arm and began punching it as hard as he could.
Eggman saw Knuckles and frowned. " Hey!" Eggman made the robot's arm swing to the left, throwing the echidna across the room and SMACK! He hit the wall back-first. Knuckles groaned in pain as he slid down to the ground and fell to his knees.
Amy looked at Knuckles in pity, then looked back at the robot with a hmph and her hammer materialized out of thin air and into her hands. She ran up to the robot and smacked its large legs rapidly, but the robot seemed to not take damage.
Manic was mesmorized by the scene.
" Manic! Come on we gotta get outta here! " Mikey yelled, breaking Manic's daze as he tried to pull Manic down the hallway.
" No! Not yet!" Manic protested staying put.

Tag and Mira watched in terror as the people piled out of the building that was under attack. They saw everything from the outside, the robot crashing into the building.
" Manic and Mikey are still in there! " Mira yelled over the screams of the people.
Tag gritted his teeth with a nervous groan. " Mikey! What's going on in there?!" Tag yelled pushing his earpiece deeper into his ear hoping he'd be able to hear over the crowd.
Nothing. " MANIC! ANSWER WHAT'S GOING ON! Come on.. One of you! Say something! Anything!" Tag waited but there was still no response. He scowled in anger and threw the earpiece down on the ground. " Stay out here."
" WHAT? " Mira said her eyes widened in betrayal.
Tag pulled a chain of keys out of his pocket and tossed it to her. " You heard me, get the car started and if I'm not out within five minutes, leave without us. "
" But Tag!-"
" Just do what I said!..." He said starting to get a bit angry but sobered. " I'll be right back, alright?" Tag said hugging her then kissed her forehead, then started his way against the crowd.
Mira watched as he went toward the danger once again, but then shook her head. " No..... Not this time... " She muttered then kicked off her heels and ran against the crowd toward the doors as well.
