Michael POV
Okay.
I had to admit that the warship was a little cool.
But still.
Everybody was on deck now, and all of us were staring. Then a boy, about our age, comes swinging across the gap onto our ship. He has curly brown hair, an impish grin, and a Latino look to him. Strangely, he has a tool belt around his waist. I start to softly surge, just in case.
"Hello passengers of the, uh, what's your warship's name? Ah well, I'll just call it the warship. But hello! We..come...in...peace!" He said the last part like E.T., and as if we were small children who wouldn't understand. He then took a Wii controller out of his tool belt.
"Is it okay if my friends come aboard?" He asked no one in particular. At least our crew seemed to be out of our initial shock. Everyone looked at me. Well I guess I am the leader of the Electroclan. I stiffly nodded.
Surprisingly, he waved his Wii controller in a sweeping motion from the ship he came from to ours. Then a plank came out of the side of his ship, extending and then connecting smoothly to our deck. About seven more kids walked smoothly across the gangplank. The first one had sea green eyes that seemed fractured, with hair that looked like it hadn't been brushed since the Ice age. A girl with blonde hair in princess curls was holding his hand. She had a natural tan. I expected her to have the stereotypical blue eyes, but she had startling gray eyes, that looked fractured like the boy's.
The next pair was a girl with choppy brown hair. It was braided, and it was actually quite pretty. She had eyes that wouldn't stay the same color for more than five seconds. She was holding hands with a boy that looked like a blonde superman, except for a small scar on his upper lip. His eyes were a sky blue, and they commanded authority.
The last couple was a guy with black hair in a military cut. His eyes were brown and his head was just a little out of proportion for his very buff body. The girl next to him had frizzy brown hair and gold eyes. Literally like 24 karat gold.
The last person was a girl with caramel hair, and her eyes were like chocolate. When Jack saw her, he whistled, only to be shot glares from the girl and the boy with curly brown hair, who now had his hand in hers. Jack quickly backed down.
They all looked muscular, like they all worked out a lot. It wasn't the gross muscular either.
Trying to muster up some courage against these powerful figures, I said, "Your names?" As more of a command than an invitation.
The boy with sea green eyes stepped forward. "Well, I'm Percy Jackso-well, let's just leave it at Percy. This is Leo, Annabeth, Piper, Jason, Frank, Hazel, and Calypso." He pointed to them in the order that they boarded. They were greeted with a few weak nods from most of the crew, which consisted of the Electroclan, five crew members, a captain, and Jamie. It was small, but less likely to attract attention.
Seeing how they weren't preparing to fight the second they got here, I relaxed. But just a bit. "My name is Michael. This is Taylor, McKenna, Ostin, Abigail, Nichelle, Tanner, Ian, Jack, and Zeus." I said, pointing to them as I went. At this Perry burst out laughing. "What's so funny?" I said, puzzled at their sudden outburst.
"T...that boy! Z...Zeus! Does h-he have a... a death wish?!" Perry stuttered out. Wait, I think it was Percy. But why would Zeus have a death wish?
"Uh, Perce, they have no idea what you're talking about, you know." Said Jason.
I glanced at Zeus and saw the rage on his face. I made a move to stop him, but I was too late. Stepping forward, Zeus raised his arms and said, "I'm called Zeus because I can do this." He then made electricity shoot off his fingers and hit the deck around these strangers. I was mad at Zeus for giving away that we were glows, but more mad at myself for not seeing this coming. Instead of looking amazed or even scared, they all turned to the Jason kid.
Jason looked back at them, and raised his hands, palm forward. "Guys, I can't do that! That's more Thalia's thing!" He cried. Nervous glances were exchanged among us Glows.
Strolling forward, I pushed Zeus back, while walking towards Jason.
"Jason, do you mind telling us when you were born?" I said.
"Why does that matter?" He said, somewhat on edge. He started fingering a coin that he had taken from his pocket. It looked like he was preparing to flip it.
"Just tell me if it's April 16th. Or within a day of it." I said.
"No." He said, drawing the word out into three syllables.
I was stunned. That wasn't the time that the machine that gave us our powers was on. But they all talked like he was electric too. I was stunned. I heard a sparking sound and turned towards it. Zeus was summoning electricity to the tips of his fingers, frying drops of water approaching him. He wasn't necessarily trying to zap Jason, but some went towards the group. But the weirdest thing was happening, and I know all about weird. All of the lightning missed Jason, hit him and did nothing, or he would raise his hand and change it's course. Even I couldn't do that.
Yet.
While Zeus was having his zappy fest, I saw Nichelle trying to pickpocket the controller out of Leo's belt, while Abi was trying to sneak across the gangplank.
The bronze figurehead dragon turned. And roared at her. It even blew out a stream of fire at her!
Leo heard the roar and turned faster than any human could manage. "Festus, no!" he shouted, and rushed towards Abi. I saw the scene unfold before I could do anything. He threw Abi back onto the deck, and the fire hit him full blast. Zeus stopped zapping the little drops of water, and stared at the shocked form of Abi. Realizing that she almost died, he rushed forward and comforted her stiff form.
I couldn't believe that a random stranger saved someone he didn't even know.
But what made it all worse is the fact that his friends were all shaking their heads and muttering under their breaths.
'Some friends. Letting you die.' I thought. All of the sailors, who had by now hidden around corners and out of sight, were taking off their hats. The stream of fire seemed to be never ending, prolonging the wait of seeing the body.
Eventually it ended, and there wasn't even an ash pile left.
"I'm afraid you'll need to come with us now."
1056 words. Holy Hera, that's a lot! Thank you to all of those AMAZING PEOPLE who commented on how I should continue my story! It means a lot to me! And sorry if you don't like how I have a few author's notes in the middle. I'm kind of a chatty person. But if you comment about it, I could try to dial it down.
Yours in demigoddishness and stuff,
