I started heading home. I hadn't rode the bus home because I stayed after school and looked around. I was trying to learn how to get to all of my classes, and learn where all of the bathrooms were.

So now I was walking home, it was already starting to get dark out, and I wasn't quite sure how to get home. I looked around trying to find familiar landmarks, there was a bike trail that looked a lot like the one that passed by my house. I started to walk along it, and it started to turn off into the woods. I stuck to the trail and walked into the woods.

It seemed the more I followed the trail the more lost and confused I was.

(where am I supposed to go? Maybe I should turn around. No, I can't, I'm sure I'm about to reach the edge of the woods soon.)

soon I could hear the sounds of rushing water, I looked down the hill that I was on and there was a large river quite a ways away. I kept walking and soon it felt like I was being followed. I turned around and saw nothing, I picked up my pace so that I was speed walking. Then I could hear something moving behind me.

(what could be following me? Is it a rapist? Of course not, it's probably just an animal or my imagination... Just to be sure I think I'll walk a little faster!!)

so now I was jogging, from what? Probably just my imagination! But then I could hear breathing of someone or something behind me. Now I was sure I was being followed.

(oh god, this is the end for me. I'm going to be killed for sure!!!)

The hill that I was on was starting to become steeper, and I wasn't so sure that I was in the bike path any more. I could still hear the river below me and the footsteps behind me. As I crashed through the trees the thing behind me was getting closer, I wasn't sure what to do and I was getting tired.

Finally there was a clearing up ahead that I could just barley make out by the light of the moon. I sprinted into the opening and stopped gasping for air. I spun around and saw something run out of the woods. It walked closer, I started to back up slowly. It was in the shape of a human I noticed as it emerged from the shadows.

I took another step back but the earth beneath me gave way and I fell. The wind rushed past my face and I reached out for something to grab, but there was nothing to hold on to. I looked up and saw a creature jump after me. Me and the creature fell silently for a while, the wind whispering in my ears.

The next thing I knew was that I had hit the water and slowly sunk to the bottom. I struggled and tried to swim, but the current was to strong, and I was pulled under. Then something bit into my shoulder hard, and pulled me up. I came up coughing and breathing really heavily, but before I knew it I was dragged underwater again. This time I inhaled water, and couldn't get to the surface in time.

And everything went black.
