"Darling wake up." I whisper. Abby opens her eyes and smiles at me.
"What time is it?" She asks.
"Dinner time. I made us dinner reservations." I say.
"Where?"
"Somewhere nice." I smirk and help her up and into her room.
"What should I wear?" She asks.
I reach in her closet and pull out a red dress that was hanging in the closet.
"This."
She frowns at it and picks it up. She smiles. "My dad sent me this..."
Shit.
"Oh I'm so sorry I didn't-"
"Don't be." She laughs. Relief washes through me. "He sent me it with a letter and it said your first baby outfit was red and that he knew it wouldn't make up for me not even meeting him since he walked out before I turned one. Louis remembered him. Louis was three when he left..." Abby's was frowning. "I'll wear it. I've never worn it before." She snaps out of it but before she goes to put it on I hug her tight and kiss her.
I knew she didn't have her dad around but at never knew she never met him...
She comes back out with the dress hugging her thighs and coming around her neck instead of shoulders.
"You look beautiful." I say.
She smiles and ties my tie for me and kisses me. "You don't look so bad yourself." She smiles.
We sit down at the restaurant next to a middle aged couple. And order our drinks.
Abby starts talking about how excited she was for the Black Veil Brides concert and the middle aged man kept starring at her, what a pervert. I hold her hand across the table and she blushes.
It takes about an hour and we finally get our food. Abby starts digging in and looks over to the middle aged man. She chokes on her steak.
"Babe?"
"Harry we need to go." She whispers behind her menu.
"Why?" I ask.
She bites her lip. "That's- that's my d-dad." She chokes out.
I call the waitress over as fast as possible and pay the bill.
Abby hides behind me as we walk out of the restaurant.
"HEY! WAIT!" Someone calls behind us. Shit. Abby turns around and faces her dad.
"Where did you get that dress?" He asks.
Her face drops even lower than it was before.
He didn't recognize her.
"You sent it to me." I could tell she was fighting back tears. I hold her hand.
"Abigail? It's you!" He shouts and tries to hug her but she moves away.
"Don't fucking touch me!" She yells. Her sadness was replaced by anger at this point.
"Abi-"
"We are strangers! You don't hug random people on the street do you?" She asks.
"I'm your father-"
"If you are come home. Go see mom!" She cries
"Abigail I can't."
"Why?!"
"Because... Listen.... You and Luke-"
"Louis. You don't even know your own sons name. That's sad." I mumble.
"Excuse me I wasn't talking to you." He states.
"Well now you are, he's just as a stranger to you as I am, so keep talking." Abby spits.
"You and Louis... I didn't mean to, you know... I didn't mean to have kids with your mother..."
Abby's jaw drops and my heart falls as hers does.
She was speechless. Her tears finally fell out of her eyes.
"I'd better go." He says.
"Yeah, don't ever talk to her again." I snarl. He doesn't argue and he goes back inside.
"Abby- I-I'm so sorry." I pull her into a hug. She cries for minutes before she says something that breaks my heart in to pieces and I cry too.
"Why doesn't he want me Harry?! Why am I never good enough for anyone to keep? You're the only one who has genuinely wanted me in their lives. Why can't other people love me like you do?"
I couldn't say anything. I kiss her cheek that was soaking now.
"I love you Harry." She whimpers.
"I love you Abigail, don't ever forget that, ever." I softly say. She keeps crying and I don't blame her.
