Still Way Back

Part of Us

Today's the big day- the Teenagers are signing their contracts with End Records today! Currently, Sherman, Herman, and I are in a taxi, riding to the building where Gee and End Records, along with a few other record labels, are located. "The weather looks so nice! I can't believe that, just last week, the ground was covered in snow!" I say as I put my hair up in a ponytail. Herman laughs and responds "I can't believe it, either!" Sherman smiles and says "I'd have to say the same thing. Hey, Alyssa, are you okay? I know you told me you were feeling kinda blah this morning, and I wanted to make sure you're okay." "Yeah, I'm fine. It must just be my nerves," I reply as the taxi pulls up next to the building where Gee, End, and a few other record labels are located. Herman smiles and says "Let's go, you two! I'm sure the others are inside waiting for us!"

Herman, Sherman, and I walk upstairs to George Goldner's office. When we get upstairs, we notice Jimmy, Joe, and Kenny are waiting for us. "There you are!" Jimmy exclaims. Sherman nods and says "Yeah, we're here. Alyssa's feelin' kinda blah this morning, but she'll be fine." Kenny nods and smiles. Then, the door to George Goldner's office opens. Jimmy grins and says "Good morning, George." "Hello, my friends! Is this lovely lady Alyssa Houlton?" George asks. I step forward, extend my hand, and say "Yes, sir." George shakes my hand and says "What a pleasure to meet you." As the Teenagers and I walk into George's office, George says "I heard you singing at the East Jefferson High School concert, Alyssa. You did amazing." Herman shuts the door and I respond "Thanks, George." George then says "Alyssa, I've been thinking of something ever since I saw you singing. How would you like to become an official member of the Teenagers?" Holy fuck! I clasp my hands over my mouth in surprise and exclaim "Oh my god! Yes, yes, yes- I'd love to become a member of the Teenagers!" George's grin widens and he says "Okay!" He then passes out the contracts for me and the others to sign. "Sign this, and you're officially a member of the Teenagers," George says. Oh my god, I can't believe this is happening! I'm officially part of the Teenagers!

The contracts have been signed, and now, the Teenagers and I are just chatting with George about random things. "So, how did you guys meet Alyssa?" George asks, with a hint of curiosity in his voice. Sherman smiles and says "We met one day in a diner. The Teenagers and I were just gettin' some lunch, and we met Alyssa. She just moved here from New Jersey in September." I grin and say "Since then, I've been sticking with the Teenagers. I'm also dating Sherman, so that makes everything even more amazing!" As I laugh, Herman asks, "Hey Sherman, can Alyssa stay at my place tonight? I wanna hang out with her!" Sherman and I look at each other, and I nod. "Sure!" Sherman replies. I smile and say "I can't wait to stay with you tonight, Herman." Herman is such a sweetheart. I'm glad he is my friend.
