Never The Same Again

The Unthinkable

*5 months old*

Elsa and Massimo were getting things ready for their trip to America. They were only a week away. They weren't going to take a lot. Massimo would be taking one suitcase filled with some of his things and Elsa would be sharing a suitcase with Gisela.

Gisela was playing on the floor with a few toys; she had now mastered sitting up by herself. Elsa was making lunch for her and Massimo, she set the table then she called Massimo who was outside. She turns to see Gisela and Gisela's smile is huge. Elsa smiles back, "Hey my baby girl."
Gisela reaches her hands out towards Elsa. Her tiny hands opened and closed. Elsa learned that that meant that Gisela was hungry. Elsa reached down and picked her up.
She carries Gisela over to the table where Massimo was already waiting. Elsa sits down and pulls out her breast and Gisela quickly begins to eat.
Massimo and Elsa eat their lunch in silence. They were getting nervous for their voyage ahead. Elsa began to have trouble sleeping at night. After she was finished eating Elsa became drowsy. She tried to disguise a yawn but Massimo smiled and said, "You should take a nap."
Elsa smiled, "Yes, I think I will. I'm going to put Gisela down first for her nap. Then I'll take mine."
"I'm going to for a walk, then I'm going to my workshop for a bit. I need to finish up somethings before we leave." He gives Elsa a kiss and then kisses the top of Gisela's head. "I'll try to be back before dinner. Sleep well my angels."

Elsa looks down at her daughter and notices Gisela already drifting to sleep. She lifts up her shirt and goes to sit on her rocking chair. As she rocks Gisela to sleep, Elsa begins to sing. While having her eyes closed, Gisela smiled at her mothers voice. When Elsa finishes her song, Gisela is fast asleep.
Elsa kisses her forehead and says. "Sleep tight my baby girl. Mommy loves you."
Elsa gets up and places her sleeping baby in her crib. Elsa takes one last look at Gisela before going to take a nap herself. She smiles and walks towards her bed. She knew she had two hours before Gisela would want to be fed again. She covered herself with a blanket and fell asleep the moment her head touched her pillow. She was so tired she even slept in her prosthetics.

When Elsa woke up they first thing she noticed was how her breasts felt. Her beasts were extremely heavy and she was leaking. Usually she would feed Gisela before her beasts did that.
She sat up confused and noticed how late in the afternoon it looked. Massimo will be home soon.
Elsa suddenly had a sudden feeling. She couldn't place it. Something was wrong.
Pulling away her covers she quickly goes over to Gisela's crib.
When Elsa peers into it, she lets out a bloodcurdling scream.
Massimo was close by and hears Elsa. He runs inside their home. He looks to find Elsa crying hysterically holding their daughter in her arms, only their daughter wasn't moving.
"Elsa, what happened!?"
Elsa couldn't speak. She was trying to figure out herself what happened. She stared at her daughters lifeless body; Elsa noticed how cold she was and her lips were blue.
Massimo moves closer to Elsa noticing that she was close to collapsing.
Elsa loses conciseness. Massimo lays her down on the floor, taking their daughter in his arms tears falling freely. He put her down on their bed, there was nothing to be done. She was gone.
Massimo lifts Elsa up and tried to wake her.
"Elsa, wake up." He shook her gently.
Elsa began to stir. "Massimo..."
"My angel, open your eyes."
Slowly Elsa's fluttered open. "Where is she!? Where's my baby?!" She began to get up, looking first in the crib then her bed. She walks over and lifts Gisela into her arms. "Please...wake up my baby girl! Please come back to mommy!" Elsa sobbed.
"Elsa tell me what happened!?"
"I put...her down...for her nap...I took...a nap too...when I woke up..." Elsa couldn't go on; she fell to her knees and cradle the lifeless body of her baby girl.
Massimo held Elsa both trying to understand how could their healthy baby girl be gone just like that.
After an hour Elsa finally stopped crying. But she still held onto Gisela.
Massimo tried to take Gisela always from Elsa but Elsa said, "NO! SHE NEEDS HER MOMMY! SHE NEEDS ME! She's just sleeping. She'll wake up soon."
The hours ticked by, and Elsa still didn't let go of her daughter. Massimo let her be. He couldn't take it, he needed to get some air.

In his workshop, Massimo began to work on something he never thought he would make, a coffin for his baby girl. He was numb, he stopped thinking about what he was making and let his hands do the work.

He walked back to Elsa, finding her in their bed still holding Gisela. He walk over and picked up Gisela.
At first Elsa resisted but she finally let go of her; Elsa fell asleep, she needed to escape, the best way she knew how was to sleep.
Massimo wrapped Gisela in a blanket and placed her in her coffin; he had carried it home.

The next day, Elsa woke up in Massimo's arms. She looked into his face and burst into tears. Massimo woke up and held Elsa tighter. The two grieving parents stayed wrapped in each other's arms; it seemed time had stood still.

Massimo and Elsa buried Gisela underneath their tree. Their trip to America was forgotten.

It had been a few days after the burial and still Elsa had not ate or spoken a word. Massimo stayed strong for Elsa but when he was alone, he fell apart.

One morning, a month after Gisela's death, Massimo woke up to find the bed empty. He found a letter on top of her Elsa's pillow.

My love,
I love you with all my heart, but I cannot bare to stay at home any longer. Everything reminds me of Gisela. Do not misunderstand me, I will never forget our daughter, I just need to get away....

Massimo stopped reading, he was now a broken man clutching to Elsa's letter. He was finally able to cry and let everything out he had held in.
After there were no more tears, Massimo made the decision that he would go and get revenge for Elsa for what they did to her. He had wanted to before but Elsa had stopped him when she told him she was pregnant.
Now with the loss of both his angels, he would go on to kill everyone of those monsters for Elsa, then he would find her. He wouldn't stop until he did.

Side Note: Gisela died from SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) there's no explanation or reason for it.
