Chapter 3
The Hogwarts Express

Lily Evans had been to Diagon Ally, she had got her books and starter robes (with the Hogwarts emblem, instead of house), and wand. She had got a owl like the one that she had received her letter from, as it would remind her of that day.
Her little heart thumped inside her chest as she ran at the platform wall. Severus behind her. She was shaking from head to foot, afraid he would stop and watch her run into the solid wall.
Instead she ran straight through what felt like nothing. Suddenly a whole new scene erupted.
From the busy train station in London, to a even busier and packed platform, with a sign hanging over the red train saying "Platform 9 3/4".
Lily pushed her bulging trunk, her owl and trolley towards the train. Her parents where on the other side, they said goodbye there, Petunia had shrugged and waved looking bored.
WOOP, WOOP!
The warning sound echoed through the platform and children gave their parents a final hug and loaded onto the train. Lily and Severus walked along the packed train corridor, trying to find a empty compartment.
Finally, right at the end of the train, they found an empty compartment.
"So, what house do you think you'll be in?" Severus asked as they took a seat. Lily had hoisted her heavy trunk Up into the railings above her seat.
"There are houses?" She asked. They had only briefly hit on the subject of Hogwarts. They had talked more about spells and Diagon Ally.
"Of course!" Snape said grinning, "Slytherin, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw."
"Really? Oh, god!" Her voice shook.
"Its OK... I know you will do great!"
