"Do we have everything?" I asked. It was 6:00 in the morning and we were getting ready to contains Alex.
"Coffee just in case I feel sleepy," Brian said.
"Ice to make you not sleepy," Lindal added.
"Ok, good. Brian, ready?" I asked. He nodded.
"You guys might wanna step back," he suggested. Lindal and I nodded and stepped near the door. He pointed two fingers at an outlet just as Alex's eyes began glowing.
"Brian..." I warned.
"Ok, I got it!" Brian said, his voice strained in concentration. His finger glowed and the blue electricity came crackling to his hand. Then he averted his arm slowly to Alex. The electricity began collecting around him in a rectangular form as Alex's whole body began to glow.
"Brian!!!" Lindal yelled.
"Almost done!!!" He called. More blue streaks collected around the cage and then he was done. Brian collapsed onto his knees, sweat dripping down his face. We ran to him and helped him up. The cage was glowing and sparks flew out continuously.
Alex was like a human torch. Fire was around him everywhere. Then the fire slowly died and he looked back to normal again, just sweaty. "You ok?" I asked.
"Yeah. But I can't touch anything, if I do, they'll burn into flames," he huffed. "I'll be fine, you guys can go."
"Well, alright, bye!" I said, grabbing my things. I walked out the door with Brian and Lindal following.
We went to school in Brian's car. I stepped out. It was 6:30, 30 more minutes till school starts. I saw Jared come over, why in the world is he here? He always comes at the last minute. He walked toward us. I didn't want him to come. I stepped next to Lindal.
"Hi, guys! Why are you here so early?" He asked with a smile.
"We should ask you the same," Brian replied.
"Today my mom needed to go to work early, so she just woke me up earlier. And here I am now," he explained. He looked suspicious. He never smiles like that. He never smiles that long. The longest he smiled was 5 seconds. Or maybe I was exaggerating. Or maybe something was wrong.
"Where's Alex?" He asked. "He's always with you Brian."
"He's not coming to school today," Brian answered coldly. "We would appreciated it if you would stop sticking your nose in his business."
"You know, he is my business, since someone sent me to let him loose," Jared replied with a sinister grin. And before we could respond, Jared raised a baseball bat in his hand and brought it down on Brian's head.
I jumped in front of Brian, grabbed the bat and slammed my foot in Jared's chest. Jared fell on the floor as I threw the bat away.
"Thanks," Brian said.
"No problem," I replied. Then I turned to Jared. "Who sent you?"
"Your dad," Jared replied, getting up and throwing his stuff down. I threw down my stuff and Lindal did the same.
"Brian?" I called.
"Yeah?"
"Get out of here." Then I lowered my voice. "Go around the school and stay behind there, when you hear the bell ring, go inside."
"Gotcha!" Then he turned around and began running. I turned back to Jared.
"Don't underestimate us," Lindal said.
"Don't worry, I won't," Jared assured. He disappeared and appeared right in front of me. He's a teleporter!! He threw a punch but I dodged and punched his stomach. He staggered back.
I ran to him and grabbed his wrist. I twisted it and kicked his back, then I let go. He teleported behind me before he could fall. He punched my spine. I quickly did a flip and landed lightly on my feet.
He teleported behind me again. But I was ready. I kicked behind me and did a spinning kick, the side of my foot slamming into his jaw. He went flying and landed on the ground with a grunt.
He wiped blood away and stood up, determination set on his face. He teleported away. Kids began to arrive.
"Where did he go?!" Lindal asked, looking around.
"He's heading for Brian," I answered, picking up my stuff. I heard a rustle in the bushes, but ignored it. "Brian should be at his house, maybe. Wait, doesn't Jared know where that is?"
"I think-" Lindal began. Then bell cut her off. We collected out stuff as kids went swarming in. We followed the crowd and I went to my locker.
I put my stuff in. I saw Brian come I turned. "Where did he go?" He asked.
"Jared? He went into hiding because he thought we would go and find you so that he could follow us. But now he's gone because he thinks you're at your house," I answered.
"How?" Brian asked.
"Because I gave a hint. It would've been the logical way to follow you, but we didn't have to."
"Wow, you're pretty smart."
"Of course I am! I've got a 94.3 as my average last marking period!"
"You know what I got?"
"0.2?"
He glared at me. "Of course not!! I'm way smarter than that!! I got a 84.9."
"Not bad, for you at least." I smirked as his scowl deepend.
The bell rang. "See you and Lindal later." I walked to my first persiod class. Then, in the middle of the period, Jared came into the room with a furious face.
He slammed his hand onto my desk, I didn't flinch. Everybody in the room turned to us. "Excuse me, Jared, you're in the way," I said politely.
"Where is he?" Jared growled.
"Who? You know there are many "he's" in the world. There's on over there, an there and all around the room!" I answered, pointing around the room.
He slammed my desk again. "You know who I'm talking about!" He hissed. "T-"
"Mr. Jackson!!" The teacher called. I smirked as Jared turned around to face the teacher. "This is not your class. Go, or else you're going to the dean."
Jared glared at me again and stomped out the room. "Miss Lung?" I turned. It was the teacher. "What was going on?"
"I don't know myself," I replied.
Lunch arrived and again the boys sat with us. I know all of them now. Tony, Brandon, Ken, Howard, Nick and Sam. All of them were annoying.
We were all eating and having fun. I was sitting on the edge of the bench with Lindal next to me. Brian sat in front of us with Tony next to him.
Everything was fine when Jared decided to stomp over. He grabbed Brian's collar. I raised an eyebrow.
"Uh, Jared, maybe you should put him down?" I said.
Jared looked at me and slammed Brian into the wall. Lindal screamed and my eyes widened. All the boys at our table looked at him. Everyone was looking at him. The worst part was that Brian was unconscious. Could this get any worse?
"We have a problem," I said.
