A few days has passed after Alex was controlled. My arm almost healed, a scab has grown on it and I still cover it with a cast. I heard a tap on my window.
I walked to hit and opened it. "What?" I asked.
"Nothing," Alex replied casually.
I groaned. "Are you gonna do this to me everyday?!!!"
"Probably."
I was about to slam the window shut when he called out.
"Wait!!!" He yelled.
"What?!" I snapped.
"Nothing."
I groaned louder this time and slammed the window shut, ignoring his second "wait!" I pulled the curtains together.
This stupid asshole is wasting my time getting ready for school!! And just saying, I kinda take a really long time to get ready because I'm half asleep. I looked like a walking zombie.
I grabbed my bag and checked if everything was in there. Keys, notebooks, pencil case, etc. Time to go. I went downstairs and got into Grace's car. As she drove there, Sofie just had to criticize my sweater. Grace dropped us off.
I walked into the school and came to my locker. I put my stuff in and took my books out. I slammed my locker shut and locked it.
"Aveline!!!" I turned. It was Alex. Of course it was.
"What?" I asked curtly. "You've been calling me since morning!"
"Hello."
"WHAT?!!"
"Nothin'."
I slapped his face.
"I don't get it!!!" I yelled. "Why in the world would you do that? It's like you can't see me and randomly ram into me!! And why the hell do you have apple juice in the middle of nowhere?!!"
"It's not my fault you didn't look where you were going!!" Alex yelled back, his hands clenched in fists.
"Ok, guys!" Brian said, squeezing himself between us. "Why don't we all calm down-"
"Calm down?!!!" I screamed. "He spilled some fucking apple juice on my favorite sweater!!!"
"Not my fault you wore it today!!" He shot back.
"Not my fault you were to busy going on your phone!!" I snapped.
"Well, it-" Alex began.
"GUYS!!!" Lindal exclaimed. We all turned to her. "You guys have been fighting for so long that everyone has left!! We need to leave now!!" I looked around. She was right. The school halls were quiet and empty. It felt almost creepy like this.
I glared at Alex and grabbed my stuff. I began walking to the front door. When the doors exploded. We all screamed and went flying. I landed on my stuff. I pushed them off and stood up, squinting through the dust. Then the lights turned off. I mean the whole school's lights turned off.
"What's going on?" Brian called. I stepped back as a figure walked in from the dust.
It was dad. Of course it was. He had a Chinese axe in his hands, a fu. He looked at us, raising it.
"Scram!!!" I yelled. And we all ran in different directions as dad slammed the fu onto the ground. Then my dad threw the axe in my direction. I quickly ducked as the axe smashed the wall that I was standing in front off. My dad cursed.
He took out two the throwing knives. I got ready to dodge them. But he didn't throw them at me, he threw them at Lindal. The one he knew that didn't have any defense against the knives. She screamed.
Then a reflex kicked in just as the knife went out of his hands. I ran at him and did a spinning kick. But he turned around just in time and caught my ankle. He threw me into the wall with such force that is didn't have strength to flip over and kick off the wall.
I felt my back slam into the wall so hard, that it made a crack. Pain came as fast as a lightening stream. I fell onto the floor with a grunt. I groaned. Dad grabbed the back of my shirt.
"How you doing, little petal?" He asked with a sneer.
I ignored the pain and smashed my foot into his ankle. He dropped me and staggered back, holding his ankle. I crawled backwards. And sat up painfully. I looked over at Lindal. She was alright. Brian stood in front of her with his hands full of electricity. Two smoked knives lay in front of him.
Dad stood over me again. "Worried about your friends, eh?" He asked. He pulled out a dagger. Fear crept into me like ice cold water. I pushed myself up, wincing. "Don't tire yourself, petal. You're in no shape to fight like this!" He sneered. Then I saw Alex jump up and punch my dad's face. My dad fell to the ground with an angry grunt.
Alex ran over and slipped his arm around my back. "You ok?" He asked.
"No," I said wincing. He pulled me up gently. "Ow!!"
"Sorry," he said.
"For what? Spilling juice on my sweater?" I challenged.
"Uh..."
"Hey, lovebirds!!" Brian called. "Can we get outta here?!!" I turned away to hide my blushing at the mention of "lovebirds".
I looked at dad. He was groaning on the floor. "We need to go!" I said.
"Uh. That's exactly what I said!" Brian pointed out. I ignored him. I looked at the doors that exploded. Could we go through there? I squinted my eyes. I saw a red laser a few inches away from the ground.
A sensor. If someone goes through there, then they'll set another bomb off. And its surronding the whole school by minute!! That means we would be stuck in the school!!
We need to find another way. I looked around and saw a window. The sensor hadn't reached that window yet, but it will if we dont hurry up.
"Alex, over there!" I directed, pointing to the window. He help me to it. "Guys!! Over here!" Lindal and Brian turned. They saw me point to the window and nod.
They ran over. "Alex, go first," I said. He let me go and climbed onto the windowsill. He held out his hand. I took it and he hauled me up.
"You're not going anywhere!!!" I heard dad yell. I heard and whizzing sound.
"Get down!!" I yelled and I pushed Alex out the window as I ducked myself. Two knives hit stabbed the wall. "C'mon!!" I called.
I scooted aside as Brian pushed himself up. I saw dad take out two bombs. I pushed Brian out and slammed the window shut. The bombs bounced off the window and onto the floor. I grabbed Lindal's hand and pulled her up. I winced as the pain came.
The bombs detonated just as we pushed ourselves against the windows. I coughed as smoke flew around. I could hear my dad coughing too. I coughed agian and choked down another one. I grabbed Lidal, she was coughing too.
We krept forward, careful not to cough. I jumped off and landed on my feet, I immiediatley fell onto my side. I couldnt help but make a soft groan. Lindal helped me up and we began running down the hall. We went upstairs to the second floor.
We ran into a classroom and closed the door shut, locking it too. We both went under the teacher's desk and collapsed. We were both breathing hard.
I can't believe it. We're stuck in school.
