The school itself really was quite small. Everyone here seemed to know each other, and more importantly, they all seemed to get along really well. Your homeroom teacher, Mr Erwin Smith, greeted you with a pleasant smile as you walked into your form class. You suddenly grew very self conscious as you realised the downside of being the new girl in class - all eyes were on you as Mr Smith introduced you to everyone and directed you to a seat at the back of the room next to the boy from earlier, Jean Kirstein.

As you dumped your backpack on the floor next to your seat and collapsed into it, you gave Jean an awkward smile which he returned after hesitating slightly. After about a minute of silence, he cleared his throat and spoke.

"So you're the new girl huh? Why'd you come here of all places?"

You leaned back on your seat and gave Jean an innocent look, before answering. "I uh, didn't really like my old school..." You began to realise that explaining to people why you transferred here wasn't going to be as easy as you planned out in your head.

You looked up at Jean and read the curious look on his face as he ruffled his hair in confusion. "You didn't like it? It couldn't have been that bad, could it?" As you recalled all of the shitty memories you had of that place, too many to count, you nodded, starting to tear up a little. You were embarrassed to cry in front of him even though you've barely met. You hadn't even been in this school for an hour and you were already struggling to hold back tears.

You lifted a hand to your cheek to wipe away the tears that had started to fall down your face. Jean noticed and looked taken aback by your slight emotional outburst. "H-hey, don't cry alright? I'm sorry, I shouldn't have pushed you for answers..." He began, clearly flustered. "I'm Jean. What's your name?"

Even though you already knew his name from earlier, you smiled gratefully and introduced yourself. "I'm (y/n). Nice to meet you Jean." You said sweetly, a gentle smile gracing your lips.

Looks like you had made your first friend.

-------------------------------------------------

You survived the first three periods before lunch started. This opposed a problem. Unfortunately for you, you tended to overthink things too much, especially simple situations that required no thinking at all. You could already feel the negative thoughts creeping up in the back of your mind. You tried to shake them off, but it was hopeless.

Where will you sit?

What if you cant decide what to eat and hold up the queue?

What if you drop your food?

What if there's no seats left?

Where do you go after you're finished eating?

You wondered if you'd be able to find Christa before lunch started...Then again, if she was sitting with her friends, you really weren't in the mood to be social with them, not today. You were far too drained from having to walk into this giant school all by yourself.

You let out a sigh as you began making your way to the dining hall. You were just about to push open the door and step inside, when you began to have second thoughts. It took every ounce of your being not to give up entirely on the situation and run back down the corridor screaming "NO! YOU CANT MAKE ME GO IN THERE!"

But damn were you hungry.

Realising that your appetite had won the argument, you take a deep breath and push open the door. You were immediately hit with the buzzing excitement that filled the room...yet it was somewhat sophisticated and quiet. "deep breaths, (y/n)," you mutter quietly to yourself as you pick up a tray and join the line of very hungry students.
