Chapter 4
A/N: Sorry it's such a short chapter but I promise the next one will be longer! (: This is kind of a filler d: But "enjoy".
Lauren’s POV
We all biked down to the giant Forever 21 and rushed right in. I smiled just at the sight of the store. My favorite store. Nobody could stop me here. I ran around gathering up armloads of clothing, Meredith trailing behind me while the other three girls ran another way.
“Lauren, wait up!” Meredith called as I practically ran for the changing rooms. I slowed down and she came up next to me with a small armful of clothing.
“Yes Mere?” I asked her with a smile on my face.
“You can’t just run into the dressing rooms without me! I mean, who are you going to model for?” she giggled. I shook my head but grabbed her arm and headed in to change. We got dressing rooms right next to each other and began the fun of trying things on. I slipped on a multicolored romper and walked out to find Meredith waiting in an adorable little sundress.
“Wow Meredith! That’s gorgeous!” I gushed at her. Her cheeks began to hint at being pink.
“Thanks Lo! I have a casual date with Brian later. Do you think this would work?” she asked twirling.
“Of course! It’s perfect!” The purple dress hugged her skinny frame perfectly accentuating everything in the right spots. The skirt of it ruffled with lace.
“Yay! And wow, that romper is so you!” she squealed.
“You think so?”
“I KNOW so!” Meredith said with a smile. We continued trying things on until we had run out of clothing. Walking out of the dressing rooms, Meredith turned to me seriously. “Lauren, are you okay?”
“Yeah,” I sighed. “I guess I am.”
“Do you know what you’re going to do about him…?” she asked hesitantly. I shook my head.
“Hey Mere, can I trust you to keep a secret?” Meredith frantically nodded her head. I pulled out my phone. “Well earlier today, Joey sent me this.”
I showed her the text and she read through it. As she got closer to the bottom, her eyes widened. I pursed my lips grimly as she looked up and handed me back my phone.
“Oh Lo…” she said and pulled me into a hug. “Are you ready to see him again?”
I shook my head slightly.
“Well you know you don’t have to let him explain anything.” I nodded. I looked back down at my phone and noticed the time. It was 2:45.
“Shoot, I have to be somewhere at 3. Is it okay if I check out and leave you with the others?” Meredith nodded understandingly and walked with me to the checkout counter. “Thanks Mere. And tell Brian thanks for me. He texted me as well to make sure I was alright.”
“Will do!” she said with a smile and walked off to find the others. I quickly paid for my crazy haul of clothes and sped out of the store. I had ten minutes to get back and meet him at the Starbucks. I hopped on my bike and pedaled faster than before.
Joey’s POV
“Joey, dude, you need to stop pacing. Seriously,” Brian said as I walked back and forth from the kitchen to the dining room.
“Sorry man. I just can’t help it. Time is just not passing fast enough,” I told him.
“Come on. Just sit down and watch LOST with me.” I looked at him but sighed and sat down. After only five minutes I still couldn’t concentrate.
“Uggggghhh,” I groaned loudly. Brian raised his eyebrows at me but turned back to the show.
“Look, I think you need to eat something and take a nap. By the time you wake up, it’ll be closer when you have to leave for the airport.” I huffed but pushed myself off of the couch. I walked into the kitchen, grabbed a banana, and headed back to my room. I really wasn’t hungry but I forced the banana down my throat. With an exasperated sigh, I flopped back onto my bed and looked up at the ceiling. I just wanted to get to on the plane and get to Chicago. I closed my eyes and sighed again quietly. Time better fly faster than ever.
