I trudged through the snow as it fell around me. I really didn't want to go where I was about to go but I knew it was necessary. My body clock was so messed up that I had only realized 5 minutes ago that it was Friday which meant the MSG auditions were tomorrow. I knew I was prepared since I was constantly dancing but I was still nervous.

As I walked down the street to the place I least wanted to be a knot formed in my stomach. I brushed the snow out of my hair and walked up to the house. My old home. I opened the door with the key I'd kept and walked cautiously into the living room. Fear ran through my body.

Then I saw him. The man who destroyed my life. He sat on the couch with a bottle of beer in his hand and a few more lying on the floor. The TV was muted, not that he was watching it anyway. I had to say something.

"D-Dad, i-ii have to take a shower." I mumbled. He didn't speak but then he rose drunkenly from where he was sitting and turned to face me. His eyes were bloodshot and there was vomit all down his shirt.

"Where the hell have you been Olivia!" he drunkenly slurred as he staggered towards me. I winced as he got closer. "I haven't seen you in 3 months!" he threw the bottle of beer he was holding at the wall and it shattered, the brown liquid running down the white wall. He stood in front of me for a minute and I desperately wanted to run away but I needed the shower. Suddenly he raised his hand in the air and I knew what was coming. He wobbled drunkenly and then I felt his hard hand slap my face.

I stood unmoved, my face with no expression. I was used to this now. My eyes watered but I blinked quickly to stop the tears falling then I turned and ran upstairs to the shower. Away from the monster that was my father.
