After a long trip we finally arrived at the start of a new life. We all were taken out of our cages and placed on the ground. We sniffed the sweet summer grass and pounced on insects crawling by.
I was then put back in the cage with my brothers. The human took us into the building and we were brought into a room smelling of Clorox wipes and pets. We were carefully placed on a small metal table. The human who brought us in spoke calming words to us and petted us. We sat quietly. Then another human, a female came into the room. Pip was a little shy at first but quickly warmed up. Squeak didn't care and I being the brave one, stood proudly as she petted my back. She talked briefly to the male human then he left. She petted us and checked our teeth, ears, and listened to our heartbeats. She took some blood from us and gave us a few shots. She then gave us some treats and soon the male human returned. She smiled down to us and petted us and told us how good we were. They exchanged quick goodbyes and we were loaded into the cage again.
We traveled through this building to a room where we were delightfully reunited with our siblings and mother.
Apparently May and Flower went through the same thing we did. Mom told us it was a check up to make sure we were healthy. Then another person came in fed us dinner and put out some toys for us. She also put a doggy bed and a few blankets. We ate dinner and sat together.
"Mom can you tell us a story about dad?" May asked.
"Sure honey," mom said, "Your father was an amazing dog. He was a border collie, like me and was very brave.  He loved playing frisbee and always looked out for everyone. One time, I remember watching him at an agility show. He flew around that course like his life depended on it. He was champion and he deserved it." Mom paused as if she was rethinking the moment. We stared at her in awe then she continued. "He worked hard for whatever he wanted. He loved you guys very much and he's watching you from doggy heaven. Don't let your dreams scare you pups, you can do whatever you believe you can." She gave us all a lick on the head and we snuggled close. "Goodnight my dear pups" said mom.
"Goodnight mom!" We replied.
I layed awake thinking of my dream. What was it? To follow in my fathers footsteps? To be a champion agility dog too? I drifted off asleep thinking of my dreams and believing I could do it.
