Chapter 27?

Amanda's POV:

"Oh... Wh-who is she?" I asked, mentally cursing in my head for stuttering. I didn't want to act jealous or sad in front of him.

"Well she doesn't like me back.." Niall said looking at the ground and fumbling with his hands.

"What do you mean?" I asked confused. If his girlfriend didn't like him back, why were they dating?

"Management set us up. Her name's Demi." Niall started to explain. I interrupted him and said, "THE Demi Lovato?"

He simply nodded and continued.

"Management set us up, because we're both famous and her fans like my music now and my fans like hers. That equals more money which equals happy management. The fans didn't actually like our relationship at first but it has been 5 months. She's always liked me as a friend but I've liked her as more." Niall said, saying the last part quietly, his voice just above a whisper.

At this point, I realized my teeth were clenched and my hands balled into fists. Jealousy surged through me as I got up swiftly and started walking down the dirt road towards the main road. I heard Niall call my name, but I didn't stop. That only made my feet react by running. The wind tore against me as I ran as fast as I could. Tears threatened to fall out of my eyes. I didn't want to feel this vulnerable, but this was too much for me. The last few days had been bliss, spending them with Niall. The kisses we shared... The kisses. He just now decides to tell me that he had a girlfriend.

The pebbles and rocks bounced off my feet and sand arose all around me from my running. I noticed the dirt road was ending up ahead. My mind was fogged, I wasn't aware of my actions. I kept running and I ran across the road and heard a familiar noise coming towards me. The familiar noise of a car horn and lights blinded me before I blacked out.

Niall's POV:

I ran after her wondering why she ran in the first place. Maybe she still did having feelings for me.... Niall you're such an idiot, I told myself. I shouldn't have told her about Demi. It's not like I still liked her. Ever since Amanda came back into my life, I didn't even think about Demi. What was she  compared to Amanda? That's what I was trying to tell her before she ran away. I chased her, wondering how long she would run. I quickly darted, gaining speed, trying to catch up with her. I was behind, because I had stood like a fool, dumb stricken when she first ran.

I was now only a few feet away from her. I noticed the dirt road was ending and I watched as Amanda's light brunette hair flew behind her. I grew closer to her as she slowed down for some reason. I was a foot away from her when she froze, a car 2 feet away from her. I darted so fast, like lightening, and wrapped my arms around her and pushed her out of the way before the car hit her. We rolled down to the ground beside the road and an angry honk came from the car before it drove away quickly. I had my arms around Amanda protectively and I looked at her face to see her eyes closed. I shook her a little, but realized she  had probably fainted. I lifted her into my arms and slowly trudged back to my car. I shook my head. It was all a mistake to take this short cut.

"Amanda please wake up" I said, sobbing and placing my head on her chest. We were in my car and she was laying in my lap in the passenger's seat. A few tears had slipped out of my eyes when I realized that this was kind of like the nightmare I had the other night. I didn't want anything to happen to her. Ever. I would hold her in my arms till the end.
