Will checked his phone every two minutes to make sure he left the house right on time. Cecily had called him last night. She hadn't just texted something simple like "hi", no, she had called and they had talked for two hours before arranging to meet at a cafe Cecily had told Will about. Now he wanted time to pass by faster so that he could see her. He wanted to go right now and just wait outside the cafe for her. He missed her. He missed her so much and he hadn't seen her in weeks and her voice had sounded so comforting on his phone last night. He missed the way she spoke. He missed the way she thought.

It was at that moment that he caught himself. He had barely known this girl for a month. He had spent less than two weeks around her. He barely knew her. And somehow he missed her. This was not supposed to happen. People didn't just suddenly like a person this much, did they? He only knew her for two weeks. They had barely spent time together. Hell, the whole time he had been helping to fix her electricity they had only spoke in short intervals before she punched him and they hadn't seen each other for a week. Then the show and they had gotten to know each other better and he had been there to support her. And now he couldn't stop thinking about her. Who was he kidding, he had been thinking about her that week after the repairs as well. What was it about this girl that was so hypnotizing? She was beautiful, yes, but nothing outstandingly so. Dark hair, brown eyes. She had a nice body that was fit and a small waist that made her hips look round and her boobs look bigger, but she was nothing outstanding or breathtaking. There were plenty of girls at school who were gorgeous with their beautiful eyes and silky hair and slim, tall figures, but they didn't impress Will.

In his freshman year in high school Will got his first girlfriend. He didn't really know how he managed to date her, considering how many other guys had wanted to do so, but he had managed anyway. She had been the classic blonde hair and ice blue eyes. They had spent many afternoons together and she had even convinced him to go to a party of two. Will had liked her because she was gorgeous, but as he spent more time with her he began to want more. She just wanted to kiss him and show him off to everyone, which at first he didn't mind. But then he began to want real conversations and his grades dropped off because he was spending time with her so he began to devote more time to school. She had eventually lost interest and they mutually broke it off. After that he did a couple flings with some random girls, but never had the time or wanted to put in the effort to have the real thing. He was busy and didn't want to dump all of his other emotional burdens on people with a real relationship.

His mom had left when he was eleven. His dad had really loved her and wanted to make the best life for her that he could, but there was only so much he could do as an electrician. It was no high paying job and his mom just couldn't take it. She would go out a lot and come home frustrated and angry. Her and Will's dad, Henry, got into screaming matches almost every evening toward the end of it all and Will had taken his two siblings and hid in his room. His little brother, Stephan, was two years younger than Will and Will's little sister, Nelle, was five years younger than Will. So 11 year old Will protected a 9 and 6 year old from the viscous anger of their parents. One weekend his mom just packed up everything and left divorce papers on the table. His dad was distraught for weeks, drinking and depressed. Will learned to cook and take care of his siblings while trying to take care of his dad as well. Eventually the electricity went out along with the phone lines and food began to run out. Henry was forced to pull himself together and go back to work. The kids had to adapt and Will became their main care taker. Since then he had viewed relationships in a totally different light. He didn't trust girls anymore. If his own mom couldn't make the effort to stay then why would anyone else? He expected girls to be manipulative and backstabbing and to leave whenever they chose. He promised himself that he would never get himself into a relationship serious enough to do the damage to him that it had done to his father. He was scared of letting people in because it gave them the power to hurt him. He also realized that he had to work hard so that his father could have a better life. If Will could get himself a high paying job then Henry would have an easier life and could retire happily. Girls were just a distraction, something he couldn't afford.
