It had been two days since the power failure and the electrician was coming out today. Cecily had switched to riding in the very early mornings so that she beat the heat as well as rode while there was still light to see by. Her morning ride had gone very well which had created an aura of happiness that surrounded her. Her horse was grazing out in pasture as she got into her post-ride cool shower. Luckily the water in the house still worked since it was hooked up to a different system from the main electrical. She took a quick shower to get off the dust and dirt and then slipped into her summer lounge clothes which pretty much consisted of very old and very short shorts and a camisole. She didn't really bother putting on a bra since it was summer and she had no plans to go anywhere. She was just going to have a lounge around day, figuring she would mostly stay in her room and out of the electricians way.

Half an hour later she heard a loud knock on the front door and assumed it was the electrician. She figured her dad would get the door and show him to the electrical plugs and systems. Two minutes later another knock sounded followed by a loud "hello?" Cecily realized that no one was answering the door. Not wanting the electrician to leave she trotted out of her room, down the hall to the front door. She pulled it open and smiled at the older man standing in front of her.

"Hi," she said, "I'm Cecily, you must be the electrician."

The man smiled at her and she noticed his laugh lines by his eyes. "Yes, that would be me. I'm Henry Hollenbeck from Hollenbeck Electrical."

"Nice to meet you," Cecily shook his hand. "Do you want a glass of water?"

He shook his head and stood by the front door waiting for her to show him to his job. She smiled awkwardly at him.

"I'm going to need to get my dad, can you please wait here for a second?" Cecily asked before walking briskly to her father's study. She knocked and opened the door. Peeking her head in she saw her dad reading some sort of paper, no doubt one of the new books sent in to the publishing company that he was editing himself. "Electricians here," Cecily told him. He nodded and she headed back the where Henry was waiting. "He will be here in a second," she told the man.

He smiled and then her attention turned to the person walking up behind him. And oh god did he catch her attention. Dark brown hair, almost black, tall, and from what she could see he was well built. And he looked young. Her age young. Henry turned to see what she was staring at before turning back to her with a soft smile on his face. "That's my son, William. He is helping me with the job so he can get the hang of it."

Cecily looked at Henry feeling embarrassed that he caught her staring. She forced herself to meet Henry's eyes and return his smile. With a jolt she noticed that Henry had deep blue eyes and she hoped his son had inherited the gene.  No sooner had the thought crossed her mind the very boy stood in front of her. He set down the toolbox he was carrying and turned his attention to her. And mercy of heaven those same deep blue pools stared into her own very dark hazel ones. Cecily felt the heat rise in her cheeks and tried not to gape. Just then her dad walked up from behind her and introduced himself. She took that as her cue to leave. She did her best not to bolt down the hall like a spooked horse.

Shutting herself in her room she let out a breathe and turned to see how bad her blush was. Instead she met her reflection with a gasp. She had forgotten that she was wearing her relaxation clothes. No bra. Short as possible shorts. Hair still damp and in a messy ponytail. And she had just walked out and greeted people she had never met before in her entire life. She wanted to die right there and never have to look at Henry and his son ever again. She decided she was just going to have to stay in her room for the remainder of the time they were fixing whatever had broken. It could only take two hours right? Maybe three or four if the problem was really bad. She could stay in her room for three hours. She would just binge watch some grande prix jumping and maybe move on to some BBC or something when she got bored. It would be okay. They would leave and she would never see them again.
