Elijah's P.O.V.

"I slept with Tristen..."

I stand up and walk away from her. I run my hands through my hair. It feels like my lungs aren't working, I can't get air to them.

I place my hands on the wall and brace myself. I finally get air to my lungs and heave in breaths of air. When realization settles in, I slam my fists into the wall.

"When?" I ask.

"When, what?" Mel asks.

"WHEN DID YOU SLEEP WITH HIM?!" I shout.

Melanie shrinks away from me as I whirl towards her. She takes a breath before answering.

"The day after we completed the mating bond..." She says.

"THE DAY AFTER...GOD MEL! WHAT AM I NOT GOOD ENOUGH?" I yell.

"NO! IT'S NOTHING LIKE THAT! I STILL LOVE YOU!" Mel shouts as I turn to leave.

"THEN WHY BREAK MY HEART?!"

"What?" Mel mumbles.

"Why break my heart?" I mutter as I walk out the door.

As I slam the door shut I hear Mel break down and start crying. My wolf yells at me to go back and comfort our mate but he's also heartbroken she cheated on us.

I walk down the stairs and tell Jake to watch her. To make sure she doesn't leave the house.

After I storm out of the house I shift into my wolf and run to the border of Tristen's land. He meets me there. We shift into human form and I lunge at him.

"YOU BASTARD! YOU SLEPT WITH MELANIE!" I scream at him. I have my hands wrapped around his throat. I tighten my grip when he tries to speak, but eventually he mind links me.

'I Didn't know about the mating bond being completed! She didn't tell me!' He shouts.

I let my hands fall to my sides at his words. He sits up coughing for air.

"She didn't tell you?" I ask.

"No!"

"Oh...sorry i tried to kill you, by the way. And shes pretty upset about this and I can't really look at her right now...so can she stay with you for a while?" I ask.

"Yeah. Just send her packing...oh never mind, I'll go get her." He says.

He turns to walk away but stops and turns back towards me. "And I'm sorry about sleeping with her. I knew you guys were serious and I shouldn't have...Sorry." Tristen apologizes.

"It's okay man. Your partially her mate as I am, too. I shouldn't have over reacted...Sorry." I apologize.

And just like that, two enemies became best friends...
