Chapter Nine

Steve sat in the cold cage now clothed. 

He was cold so he cuddled himself for the bodyheat to stay with him and not mix in with the air. Meanwhile back in the main controls room, talk between all the avengers were focused on him. 

"It's simple. He wants to do things with her, come on, his manhood was hanging out" Tony said very childishly 

"But what could she have done?" Natasha questioned, ignoring Tony 

"The only thing she could of really done is manipulate him so he sees her in his mind and he thinks its real. Some sort of hologram system maybe" Nick Fury contributed 

"Shes one clever lady I give her that" Tony said swiping his screen to make an image of Varvara appear 

"But i dont know..." he stopped before he got into trouble and took another sip out of the bottle but everyone had already clicked. They all turned around and looked at him, he lifted his head up to look at everyone. Nick Fury walked closer but slowly, staring deep at Tony

"What are you not telling us?" 

Tony wanted to stand his ground and just say 'nothing' but he knew none of them would believe him. He wanted to allow his friend freedom and not more to be trapped and locked in a cage but he knew he had to tell the truth. His brown hair didn't move as he swung back around to face his screen and look at the picture of Varvara. 

"Early when we were all around him, questioning him, he went to go back to her house and make her understand but I stopped him." he paused "I told him to go to bed but he stared at this picture of her. He looked so, mesmerised by her. I didn't know whether he had fallen for her or she put him under some sort of... spell." 

He turned to look back at all of but they were all in the same position but more in a shocked state. Nick Fury shook his head, he couldn't believe what he was hearing. 'She's something else. We could be dealing with another extreme Asguardian' he thought to himself and with that thought he zoomed off with his thick black leather cloak flying behind him by how quickly he was walking 

"You guys stay right there" he demanded in the most powerful voice while he emphasised the word 'stay.' 

He barged into the cage room and went directly to the controls to open the door when he realised what he was doing. He stopped and turned around to look at the encaged man. 

"Tell me EXACTLY what happened when you saw Tori" he commanded Steve as he raised his head. His blue eyes shone in the bright lights by how confused his was 

"She had a deep dark past with Loki and that she was present when he tried last time" 

"Did she touch you in any way shape or form?" 

"I only stood next to her when we were walking. The only time we really touched was when, well, about an hour ago." 

"A hour ago?" 

"Yeah, when" he froze and become slightly embarrassed to say the next part "when I was more than befriending her." 

"You're going to have to stay in here for a few days Captain" Nick Fury told him 

"No!" Steve jumped up and ran over in the direction of which Nick Fury was standing and hit the glass "I cant. You have to believe me" 

Nick looked at him wanting to believe him so much but in his heart he couldn't 

"She's evil. She manipulates people to think and do whatever she wants. She's got to your mind and she's playing with it" and with that he began to walk back out of the room but after a few steps he froze and turned back around to look straight at the man who was focused on him. No expression came on his face as he looked at Steve who had ice blue eyes still, mouth open and a sadden glow about him. Swinging back around his cloak flew and he slammed the door behind him. Steve sat back down in his original state, all huddled to himself in the centre of the cage and just began to think to himself of how stupid he had been and what he would do next. Within ten minutes of thinking he had already came up with a plan on what he can do and how it would be done. He told himself not to let her get to him next time. He needed to over come the feelings of wanting someone as he hasn't felt them for so long. He needed to be strong not physically this time but mentally and emotionally and being on his own in the dark cold cage he could do exactly that.

Meanwhile Nick wondered back into the main controls room where he saw everyone gathered in a group near the front of the room by the window and as soon as his one foot stepped in the doorway they all looked at him. No emotions or expressions were on his face still so nobody knew what to do. 

"Get out of here." he started but no one moved, not even an inch 

"Go on, get out. It's 2:30am. Go to sleep. Tomorrow could be the day and you all want to be tired?" Everyone's head shot up and looked at each other knowing something was up but nobody wanted to mention it but quickly they all jumped and got going, leaving the room. All in different directions to their rooms and as soon as Natasha (who was the last person to leave the room) had left Nick Fury looked at the all the controls still standing in the same position as before and followed the rest. He also, turned around, left and went to his room.
