Lilian
What in the world happened to me? I have been stuck here in purgatory with an angel of crystal for what seems to be an eternity. The angel told me I was dying, but from what, and why was I in this situation in the first place.
Damien
This situation was horrible. Lily was in a coma from nearly having her soul ripped right from her heart by Hades' shadow. The demon's servant was no match for my scarlet surges of energy, and so, it fled to the abyss where I met my love. Our fathers were in the other room waiting for any news about if she would recover.
Even more worrisome was the imminent threat of Hades and his army reaching Aquaria. The fortress could not protect us from the destruction the bloodline of Poseidon, and Hades will not stop at nothing to claim his granddaughter's life.
My father was in a deep-seated conversation with my uncle about how to solve this dilemma while my mother was resting in intensive care with Lily. I couldn't believe the craziness of my family. As as it dawned on me the complete insanity that came from being a guardian to my soulmate it made me even more upset to know that she was my cousin.
The bitter rivalry between both of our parents which include my mystic mother is beyond me. Any other problems between them have brought upon them by each of their wrong decisions. But still I envy Lillian, my love, and life, for her hand in fate dealt only with destiny deck.
I wouldn't say she was given the greatest gifts of opportunity, although she is still alive and breathing for now. As I sat there wondering how I could have let that the demon's shadow almost shred the lease soul and separate it from her body, the doctor waltzed in with his tail twisted from his obvious expression of disturbing thought. He turned to me gazing at the hint of a tattoo traced around my wrist which I was hiding with a silver brace.
"I am sorry to tell you that Lily is in a state of indefinite unconsciousness. The Princess, of course, will still be safe as long as she is under your watch since you are her guardian. I also know that your relationship with her has been an issue for discussion with the king and your father. If I were you, I wouldn't leave this room until she is awake." The doctor explained with a sign of intensive.
I knew he was right and to make it more obvious that Lily and I were in a relationship the symbol wrapped around my wrist would prove my duty as a guardian had become more. On the same arm like me, there was an exact copy of the tattoo on my wrist. These were no ordinary tattoo for each one was unique for every pair of soulmates under the sea. The snake-like Nordic wind pattern wrapping around her wrists represented spiral of change to come in our relationship.
In the human sense, it was like exchanging rings at a wedding ceremony. The moment I kissed her to bring in the life that was swiftly being swept away by the shadow of Hades I committed a crime among my kind. To start guardians aren't allowed to bond with the one they were supposed to protect. Also, she is the daughter of the King making her full-blooded royalty excluding the fact that she is the granddaughter of Hades.
I mostly broke the cardinal rule of guardians, bonded with a princess, and fell in love with my cousin. In other words, I am in a deep dish of trouble, and I have no way of getting out of it. So to take the doctors advice, I better pray she wakes up before my father and uncle decapitate me so that she can plead for my case. In simple terms once I get out of this I am a merman on parole. Please Poseidon help me.
