Toby's pov

Toby didn't get what Amy's problem was, she kept giving him these looks. He hadn't quite figured out what they meant yet, well he hadn't figured out anything about the situation yet. The only thing he knew, was that this rude girl was important. He didn't know how, but she was.
Five days ago he'd caught her hiding from this huge guy. When she'd run past Toby, he'd felt this energy of power. For three days he'd been looking for her, and when he finally found her, she was on a bus. So he followed the bus to the next stop and got on. When she refused to let him sit with her, and he had to find her all over again. After searching every tiny part of New York City, he'd find her just in time. A strange monster was about to have her for dinner. As he stabbed the monster with his sword, he saw a tear slowly leaving Amy's left eye. Her arms were full of bruises and scratches, so was her face, but he still thought she was beautiful. But he didn't like her that way. He didn't like her at all.
"What are you staring at nurse?" Amy dragged him away from his thoughts.
"Don't ever call me that again." Toby answered offended.
"I can't promise anything," Amy said with an actual happy tone, he didn't know she could do that.
Amy turned to Percy and asked; "are we at the camp soon?" Like Toby didn't know where they were, well he didn't, but she didn't know that.
"We're like half an hour away now," Percy answered quick.
Toby noticed Amy's frighten look, she really was terrified of the ocean. He wondered why, he also wondered why she was sleeping behind a dumpster in New York City and why she was so rude to him.
Well he could think of one thing, he were kind of a jerk on the bus, but he did save her life and all her bruises and scratches were gone became of him. She should thank him for that, everybody would've been talking about that new girl with all the scratches.
As a son of Apollo, he knew they weren't from monsters, but he didn't want push her, if she wanted to talk about it she would, it wasn't his decision. He watched her slowly fall asleep, it was pointless to sleep now, it was like fifteen minutes left of the trip. He still let her sleep, he had a feeling she hadn't relaxed for a while.

"And then our beautiful journey is over," Percy said with his normal sarcastic voice.
"Thanks for the help dude," Toby said quiet.
"Aren't you going to wake her up?" Percy asked confused.
"No, I'll let her sleep," Toby answer him.
"Well, you'll have to lift her up from my seahorse," Percy said whilst looking at the sea creature.
Toby lifted Amy up, gladly she didn't wake up, he would probably get a punch in the face if she did.
He carefully laid her down on the sand and sat down by her side. She was wearing a light grey hoodie with some plain, black jeans, she didn't exactly try to stand out. She had some well used, white converse on her feet, they were wet and dirty from the trip. As he laid down beside her, he noticed how tired he actually was. He hadn't slept in days, he was to afraid, his dreams had only gotten worse as he got older. At the end of the dream, he kept staring into his own grave, but that wasn't even the scariest part, the scariest part was, he didn't get to think that thought through, cause he was already a sleep.

The character Percy belongs to Rick Riordan
