She could hear the strangers calling out her name, like they actually knew her and wanted to be her friend. They didn't. The only reason they were looking for her, was the fact that she was the only daughter of Poseidon to be alive. She hated it, she hated the attention, that the god of water was her father and how Percy had reacted. "Oh crap" wasn't the nicest way to welcome her to the family, what did she expect? He didn't want a sister, she didn't want a brother.
"Amy?!?" A familier voice shouted. Amy hid further into the shadows, she didn't want them to find her. The voice belonged to Tobias. He was the only person she kinda wanted to talk to, but not enough to actually do it. A tear slowly left her eye. Dont cry, only weak ones cry. She realized she was holding her breath and let go, unfortunately Tobias heard her.
"Amy! There you are." He reached his hand out to her, she didn't take it.
"I just wanna be alone, can you please leave?" Amy looked down, so he wouldn't see her red eyes.
"You know you can't hide forever, and I'm not leaving. I'm done fighting with you Amy, I'm tired of fighting with you. Can't we just get along?" Tobias asked desperately.
"It's hard to not fight with you, you get on my nerves." Amy finally looked up at him.
Tobias laugh filled the room, Amy sent him a look that said; shut up!
"You really don't wanna be found, do you?" He looked at her with his intense blue eyes.
"Get up, I know a place they won't search," he reached his hand out to her again, this time she took it.
They ran all the way to Tobias secret place, well he ran and basically dragged her with him. When he finally stopped, they were at the top of this hill. The view was beautiful, she then realized they were still holding hands, she let his hand go.
"Umm, where are we?" She hoped her face wasn't all red.
"On the top of Rachel's cave, it's the best view in the whole camp. I always go here when I feel down."
"Rachel's cave?"
"It's a long story," Tobias didn't care to explain any further.
"You don't really look like the person to feel down," Amy couldn't believe there was any negative emotions behind his smile.
"I don't really tell people about this, but I just moved on from a big depression. I couldn't handle all the pressure, you know from the gods, campers and such. It just broke me, but I managed to get over it, it was hard, but I guess I've only gotten stronger by it," Tobias was staring at the ground, feeling embarrassed. Amy wanted to hug him and comfort him, but she got the feeling he wouldn't appreciate it.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know. You just seem so happy, I would never guess you've felt anything but happiness. I guess I was wrong."
"Everyone got bad days Amy, I just had many of them in a row. I don't like to talk about it, I know campers here have depressions and stress right at this moment. I was one of the lucky ones, Amy. You'll never believe how many campers, who have self harmed, then come to me and get healed. It's horrible, but there is nothing I can do about it, and that kills me." Tobias looked her in the eyes now.
"Everyone puts on a mask when they walk out in public. They smile and laugh, but inside they're crying and yelling for help." He continued. Amy was just stairng at him, shocked over how he had just described her whole life. Always acting like everything is going perfect, whilst nothing is.
"We need to start trusting each other, we need to be on the same team. We need to start helping each other, instead of going against each other. You know it hurts, to see you feel so down about this Poseidon thing. I won't care, they won't care." He broke the silence.
" You see thats where you're wrong, they'll care and they'll treat me different."
"Then don't care! Ignore them, join me up here, were no one can find us. We can relax here, hide."
"I can't do this any more Tobias. I've been running from my problems all my life. I've been hiding, I've been scared. It can't go on like this my whole life. I need to figure out who I am and what I wanna do with my life." Amy said desperately.
"Don't you get it? You don't have a life, Amy. You lost it when you came to this earth. The gods own you, and you just gotta keep doing whatever they ask you, cause they have that power over us." Tobias took her hands.
"They may own you, you may do whatever they ask, you may be their slave. I'm not gonna let them have that power over me. I'm gonna go my own way, not against them, not with the enemy. Just my own way. If you wanna follow it, then please do. I won't make you, but I won't stop you either." Amy took a big breath waiting for his response.
"Amy please don't do this. You can't just go out in this world alone, it's to dangerous. You don't know the first thing about the world behind the human eye." He looked at her, begging her to listen.
"Then join me when the time comes. I haven't found my way yet, I probably won't. All I know is that I'm not gonna let the gods use me as a player in their stupid game, I'm gonna play my own game." Amy wasn't sure what she had just said, but it looked like it had surprised Tobias. It looked like someone had literately slapped him with a big fish.
"You are insane, Amelia Drama queen Water-girl, I like it." Tobias said impressed.
"Oh do you now, Tobias Idiotic Nurse-boy?" Amy asked with a clever smile.
He turned his back to her and started to climb down from his hiding place, she followed, facing her problems for once.
Okay so hello, it's me. I know I've been so bad at posting lately, I don't really have an excuse, sometimes its been busy at school and stuff and sometimes I've just been lazy. But I'm back and I wanna at least post once a week if not more, but don't quote me on that.
Anyways I feel like Toby and Amy are getting more and more relatable and I love the both so much.
I have decided to change the plot a bit, not that much, but I think its gonna turn out pretty good and Im excited, Im gonna do some stuff you guys are gonna hate me for and some your gonna love me for so heh get ready.
