Chapter 7: Confessions

P.O.V. Natsu

I didn't know why Lucy wanted me to go to her apartment with her. Usually she kicks me out because I eat all her food and read her novel.

"Uh, Lucy, why did you bring me here? You usually don't want me here..." I looked down at the ground.

"Natsu, you need a break." She looked at me seriously. "You worry too much when the guild is clearly capabile of protecting themselves. You just need to realax. And what better place than my apartment?" She smiled.

I chuckled. "I guess your right."

We watched movies and talked about our memories together and sang and danced to the weird music Lucy listens to. We finally colapsed on her bed from exaustion, when Lucy turned to me looking dead serious.

"Natsu...there's something I have to tell you." She hesitated.

"What is it, Luce? You know you can tell me anything, so just say it. No matter what it is, you will always be my nakama." I smiled and grabbed her hand.

She bit her lip and looked down. "Well...I know you would never think of me as anything more than a friend, but..." She trailed off.

"But what?" I tilted her chin up and made her look at me.

"Natsu...I-"

"NATSU DRAGNEEL AND LUCY HEARTFILIA WHAT IS GOIING ON HERE?!?!" Erza and Jellal had appeared in Lucy's bedroom door.

Then I realized what we must have looked like to them. We were lieing on our sides facing eachother, we were holding hands, and I had my hand under her chiin as if I was going to kiss her.

"N-nothing!" Lucy sat p and starting waving her hands in front of her.

Erza turned to me. "Natsu, if you don't tell the truth, you will never agian be able to see this pretty girl again."

"Oh, Lucy was about to tell me something important, but then yall interrupted." I said honestly.

"What about the hand holding and the chin thing?" Jellal replied from behind Erza.

"HEY you stay out of it Jellal!" I pointed at him. "And the reason we were laying like that is cuz we've been singing and dancing and we were tired. Lucy was going to tell me something, that's why we faced eachother. I grabbed her hand because she was nervous about what she was going to say, and I tilted her chin up so she would be able to look at me." I said it all with a straight face to Erza.

She nodded. "Um...carry on then..." Did I detect a hint of jealousy? I think so! XD

I turned back to Luce after they left. "You can tell me now."

"Natsu, did Erza seem...jealous to you?" She looked at me kinda confused.

"Yeah...she's probably jealous that she doesn't have a guy to do this with her." I gave her my famous grin.

"Haha, yeah. Anyway, I was saying..."  She looked me in the eye. "Natsu, I've had feeling for you for a while now. It's hard to hold back around you. You say the sweetest things to me and it makes me blush and fall for you more, but you don't realize it because you're too dense and well what I'm trying to say is...I love you, Natsu Dragneel." She said it all really super fast.

I looked at her stunned. Lucy...loved me? Why me? "Lucy, I have something to tell you, too." I paused. "I love you, too. I've loved you for a while. When i see you smile, it makes my heaert beat faster. I know what I'm saying and I know it makes you blush. I'm not as dense as everyone thinks I am. I just didn't expect you to like me back."

She smiled really big.

"But...there's someone else I love, too. I've loved her since the very first day I saw her, but I know that no matter what I try, me and her will never be together." I looked down, my bangs falling in my face.

"Oh..." Luce said slowly. "Um...who is she?"

I looked her in the eye. "Erza."

She gasped and stared at me like I had just told her I killed Gramps or something.

"Lucy, you have to promise not to tell anyone." I grabbed her shoulders. "I might love Erza, but I know me and her won't ever be together. But listen, I really do love you. You make my world go round. Lucy Heartfilia, will you be my girlfriend?" I smiled at her.

She had tears in the corners of her eyes, but she was smilling. "Baka, I've been waiting for a year for you to ask me that." She hugged me and the impact caused me to fall on my back on her bed. "Yes. Yes, I will." She had her face buried in my neck.

I hugged her back. "I love you, Luce."

"I love you too, Natsu."
