I gathered the multitude of clothing from the floor and shoved it into the laundry basket, even though most of clothes weren't dirty, I was just too lazy to put them away. After Haz and I had arrived back at his apartment, I ran straight up the stairs to find something acceptable to wear for the date that had just made it's way into both of our schedules. I settled on something that was 'edgy'. It was a pink dress with patterns of lace in black all over, a leather jacket, knee-high socks, and combat boots. I chose it because it seemed to be the only things that weren't dirty that was relatively acceptable in a dating light. I quickly threw my hair up in a messy bun and put a spikey headband on to continue the look. I put in spikey earrings in, because go hard or go home. I threw some random makeup on. I literally put eye shadow as my blush because I wasn't paying attention to the products, just the packaging. And apparently my dark brown eyeshadow looks like my rosy pink blush. Needless to say, I had to wash off my face of any makeup and start over. As soon as I was finished with my appearance, I walked over to the full length mirror and smoothed any visible wrinkles out of my clothing before walking downstairs.

I decended the stair case quickly and walked into the kitchen. I put some ice water into a glass and sat at the island, waiting for Haz. He takes longer than I do to look presentable. My back was to the enterance to the kitchen when Haz walked in, but I knew he was in the room because of the sound his shoes made when he walked.

"You're already ready?"

"Yes. I'm actually a quite effecient person when it comes to getting ready quickly. I had to get ready for gym in two minutes and I only had five to fix my appearance afterwards. So I'm a highly trained professional when it comes to anything related to looking presentable in only a few short minutes. You on the other hand don't know how long you actually take in a bathroom, do you? Anyways, that's not the point. We should get going."

"You really have no idea how much you talk without breathing, do you?"

I smiled.

"It's another one of my many talents, but thanks for pointing it out."

I hopped off the stool I was on and set my now empty glass in the sink gently so it didn't make a huge crashing noise. I grabbed my clutch and lip products I was wearing and shoving them into the bag along with my phone. We exited the door and headed for the elevator.

Having never noticed how tired I was before, standing in the elevator with light classical music in the background made me want to curl up with a bear and a blanket and sleep for days. I hadn't realized how tired I was until then, but I didn't want to ruin the date we were about to venture into, because that wouldn't have been fair to Haz. He worked so hard to get me out of that horrible house, the least I could do was make him pay for my dinner, I mean really. But he was willing and he offered, so I accepted.

"You look very beautiful tonight, Em."

"Thanks Haz. You look like you spent a lot of time in the mirror tonight."

"And is that a bad thing?"

"No. It means you look quite nice tonight."

His eyebrows raised when he realized what I had meant, his mouth making an 'o' face and an "ohhhh" escaping from his vocal chords.

"So where are we going for dinner tonight?"

"I thought we would have take out and then go sit atop a hill and look down at the scenery of the town. Is that too fairytale?"

"Who said fairytale was bad. I mean every girl once wished to be in one, but now we wish to live one. And eating Chinese food on top of a hill sounds quite fantastic."

"Then it's settled. Wontons and soy sause under the stars it is."
