Laying here thinking about the things that don't matter as if they will change anything around me. Listening to voices from my ear buds telling me how I feel as if I can't make my own decision about my feelings.

Let me lay here in silence. Let me think about the day I have had. Let me listen to my sad songs and cry and then wipe my tears and wonder why I cried in the first place.
Let the tears fall and let my heart ache. I will be fine. I can deal with it. And when it is over and done let me lay here and smile over you.
Just let me lay here. Right here on this pallet of time that has practically stopped just for my emotional episode. Let me lay here and go through the motions. Let me feel.
