"Val, how are you doing?"
"I'm fine."
"How's your day going? Have you done anything fun today?"
"Yeah."
"What's that in your hand?"
"Nothing."
"You can tell me. That's what I'm here for, I'm here for you Val."
"It's just a notebook."
"Okay, well if that's all then you're free to go, if there is anything you need to tell me give me a call."
It's been almost 2 weeks since I last talked to my brother, or anyone else.
I can't get over what I saw. What is seen can't be unseen. I sometimes get flashbacks of the accident and I instantly break down, I can't handle the thoughts that stick in my brain for hours. The car ride home was silent, no one said a word, my younger sister sat in the back sleeping, my mother was driving and by the look on her face I could see that she was very uncomfortable. I opened my notebook and I felt my eyes started to water so I closed it and put it in my bag. I couldn't, not yet. When we arrived home I went straight to Simon's room, where I would find the necessities. I pulled out a box under his bed and took out a key I had stashed into my pocket, the key that belonged to that wooden chest that my brother had found and fixed up. I hesitated but I knew I had no other choice. I had been thinking about doing it since Simon's accident. I put the key in and slowly and opened it. I took out the ad for the job Simon had wanted so badly since he had first found about his love for music, through my father. I unrolled it and spread it out on the floor, at the top was a quote, BELLDALE ACAMEDY EXPRESS YOUR TALENT AT THE BEST BOARDING SHCOOL IN MANCHESTER.
***
I gathered up a bit of information on Belldale Academy and it turned out to be a boarding school for boys, it would train you for whatever you were planning on doing and just as I expected, I had no other choice. I needed to get started soon since I had less than a week to accept the job. I needed money. Lots of it.
