Will this turn into something more? {Omelia}

10: Pregnancy test

A few months had passed and we were still on cloud nine. Sometimes I slept over at his place and (most of the time) he stayed over at Merediths. They liked to have us around. But today was a rather eventful day. I looked at the pil I was taking and normally I had to get my period a few days ago, almost a week, which concened me. I wanted to tell Owen just in case but he was not home right now so I knocked on Merediths door. 'Yeah, come in.'
'Oh hey Amelia.' She said as I noticed Maggie sitting next to her on the bed. 'Hi..'
'Amelia, what's going on? You seem nervous.'
I took a seat on the bed with them as I said: 'I'm late.'
'For?' Maggie said without thinking. 'Oh, I see.'
'How long?' Mer responded.
'6 days.'
Then Maggie asked the question. 'Do you think you're..?'
'I don't know, honestly.' I said.
'Well damn, I know you want kids but this is..' Mer said.
'So sudden..' I responded.
'You know what.. Now it's already late but I can get you a pregnancytest tomorrow if you'd like.'
Maggie offered.
'Wait, I think I still have one in the bathroom.' Meredith said. 'Just a second.'
When Mer wasn't with Amelia and Maggie anymore, Maggie said: 'Are you going to take the test right away?'
I hesitated. 'I might but I want Owen to know it and be with me, whatever the circumstances may be.'
'Yeah, I get that.'
'Here you go.' Meredith entered the room and handed me the test.
'You want to take it?' She asked.
'Yes, I do to make sure. But I need Owen here with me.' I checked my phone. 'He should already be at his place right now. I dailed his number.
'Hey baby, what's up?' He said.
'Uhm, Owen, I kinda need to talk to you. Would you maybe..'
'Come over? Of course, if you'd like me to.'
'Yes, that would be great.'
'Alright, I will see you in 10. Are you alright?' He sounded concerned.
'Uhm, yes.'
'Okay, I don't fully trust you Amy, but I am going to drive now so I'll be there in a bit. Bye darling.'
'Bye Owen.'
I put my phone on the bed.
'So?' Maggie asked.
'He's coming over, I really can't take this test by myself. I just can't.'
'Amelia... What if it is..'
'Shh...' I said. 'I do not want to think about that for now. I want Owens opinion first. I have to be honest though. I'm not scared anymore to have a child. I mean.. I guess I partitially will always stay a little scared because of what happened but I am so happy with Owen and I feel like we could take everything that would come in our way.'
A few minuted passed by as the girls sat in silence. The doorbell rang.
I got up, ran downstairs and opened the door.
'Hey Amelia, what's up?' He looked at me with a worried face just like I had imagined him to look as I was on the phone with him.
'Uhm, sit down..' I said.
'Hey Owen.' The two girls said almost in unison.
'Hi.' He replied, focusing on his girlfriend.
'So I guess we'll go upstairs.' Meredith said.
'No, please, I don't mind.' I stated.
I locked eyes with Owen and told him.
'Owen, I'm late.' His facial expression went from concerned to less concerned. That was a good sign I guess.
'Oh Amy, how many..'
'6 days.'
'Hmm..' He was thinking.
'I wanted to take this pregnancytest but I wanted you to be with me.'
'Well, I'm glad you called me. Whatever the situation may be.'
'Shall we then..' I said.
'Wait.' He softly grabbed my wrist and gestured me to sit down again.
'Amelia, I just want you to know, if it is positive.. I won't be scared. Sure, it was not planned. Sure, we are not married yet. But hey, we have talked about having kids, right? And we both wanted them, we just were not ready yet. But it's been a while since that moment. So I guess I just wanted to say that I would love to have kids with you.'
I teared up just a little as I said: 'Oh Owen, I'd love to too.'
He softly kissed me.
'Alright, let's do this then.'
We went our way to the bathroom, me going in and Owen waiting outside.
I peed on the stick as it said on the box and went outside to wait 3 minutes together with the girls and Owen...
'Amelia, I think three minutes have passed.' Meredith said.
'Okay. Alright.' I said nervously.
'Shall we look together?' Owen asked.
'Yes please.' I said and took the stick.
'One, two, three.'
'Oh...' I said.
'What is it?' Maggie asked.
'It's negative.' Owen said with a slight sad look on his face.
'Uhu..' I was a little blown away. There was a relative long silence.
'I am going to be completely honest with you Amy.' Out of the blue he took my hands.
'I kinda wish it had been positive...' He softly said.
'Oh thank god, me too.' I giggled.
He embraced me.
'I guess we are ready then.' I smiled.
'We are!' He smiled even more widely at me.
'Oh my god! I am already excited for you two!' Maggie almost jumped up and down.
I went up to her to hug her. 'Come here, thanks girl.'
'So are you really going to try then?' Mer asked.
Owens arm was around my waist when he looked at me and said: 'I guess so?'
'Yes, I'd like to.' I smiled at him and pecked his lips.
Just a moment later we were watching some tv in the livingroom all together as Meredith said: 'If you'd like to babysit the kids sometime to practise, you can always ask.'
'I'd love to.' Owen stated.
That night, whilst laying in bed with Owen it really started to hit me. I am going to be pregnant soon, I am going to have a child. I could not be happier.
He was the big spoon and I was the little one so I turned around and whispered to him: 'Owen,
I am so happy we are doing this. You don't know how much this means to me. It will not always be very easy for me but I truely think we can handle it.'
'Me too Amy, and if you'd ever want to talk about what happened more in detail, I am always here to listen.'
'I know. That's sweet of you.'
'It's because you deserve to be treated this way.' He kissed me, and immediatly I felt more at ease.
'Goodnight babe.'
'Goodnight.'

So after a long time of not posting I am back :) This time I will be posting shorter chapters for my own comfort but I hope you still like my story!
