Dan sat alone in the food court waiting for his roommates PJ and Phil with some chips (fries) and chicken. Theatre 101 was pretty easy since it was the first day, but it was still a lot of pressure to give a good first impression to over 50 people. Bob was really nice to show Dan where to go. If it wasn't for him, he would've been late and lost the class on the first day. That would've defeated his whole point in coming to uni-a degree in theatre.
Phil paid the cashier his money and left the line in search of Dan. PJ was further back in the line, but he was sure he'd find them. On his tray was a soda, Doritos, a sandwich, and some poky because he wanted to be cheeky. Phil was happy that his classmates from the year before were still at the college. They knew that their end of the year project for their Cinematography major had to be better than the year before, so they agreed on a documentary in class. On what, they didn't quite know. Hopefully something would give them an idea.
Quickly, Dan spotted his tall, black haired, pale skinned, colorfully clothed roommate and waved to him. He got Phil's attention, and he started for Dan's table. The attire for Phil today was a Nyan Cat cereal shirt and black skinny jeans, the usual Phil standard. How did Dan know so much about his roommate? He had been there for a week, and the two got along splendidly.
As Phil sat down, he was hit in the head by crumpled up piece of notebook paper. After it landed on the table, there were some low chuckles coming from a few tables over. When Dan and Phil turned to the source, they saw the quickly infamous trio of jocks: Caspar Lee, Joe Sugg, and Oli White.
"Don't mind them." A posh voice said.
The two averted their attention to PJ who was sitting down with his own tray of Chinese food. PJ was a tall, tan, curly haired brunette with green eyes in his second year for animation. He was wearing a black button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up, skinny jeans, and a totoro hoodie.
"If you react to their antics, they'll be getting what they want out of you." PJ continued.
"That's true." Phil said.
Dan ate a chip, and looked down at his notes from class. Most of them were rules mixed with doodles, and a question:
Who is Caspar Lee and why is he popular?
"Did you see that Gangsta is being cancelled?" Phil asked (anime reference, and it's true).
"Doesn't surprise me. It's an anime about prostitutes, drugs, the mob, and super soldiers." PJ said.
"Not because of that. The studio that made it went down-."
"Who is Caspar Lee?" Dan cut in.
Phil and PJ looked at Dan with confused faces. Why did Dan want to know about Caspar Lee?
"Why?" PJ asked.
Dan shrugged.
"People have been talking about him a lot, and some students asked if I was going to his party this weekend."
"You don't want to go there, mate." PJ said, "trust me, Caspar's bad news."
"Isn't he just a first year? He hasn't been here that long, has he?" Dan inquired.
From what Dan had heard, Caspar was a South African first year who was already incredibly popular with the girls.
Phil was happy that Dan hadn't been spoken to by Caspar. But knowing Dan, the whole "anti-human interaction" flaw would make Caspar interested and try to get him in bed.
PJ ate some noodles while readying the facts to explain in his head. Yes, Caspar hadn't been there long, yet he already had been with four girls, breaking their hearts in the process.
"Technically, he's been living on campus for two weeks, but he's been partying here for two months." PJ explained, "He's a serial boyfriend, ready to get whoever he wants at any cost. From what I understand, he's already been with four girls in two months, making sure to get them into bed with him. Some rumor that he has eyes on a new American guy."
"He also has two 'buddies' named Joe Sugg and Oli White. The two are practically his thugs doing what he says for some kind of reward. I think it's so they don't become his next victims or to get money for their services."
Dan face palmed. What Phil said made it sound like Caspar was a murderer or a pimp. It wasn't unusual that Phil would say things that were unintentionally wrong, it was just cringe-worthy each time one of those came up.
"Basically, don't approach those three. They'll cause nothing but trouble. Even if Caspar or his lackies get arrested, his parents are millionaire entrepreneurs, so they bail them out no matter the charge." PJ explained.
It was true, Caspar was a trust-fund baby with no moral compass. Everyone knew that even if there was damning evidence that he committed murder, his parents would pay out the judge and/or jury to keep him out of jail. Such a reputation after such a short amount of time wasn't random, it was worked for.
"How the hell would that work?" Dan asked, "He's like a trust-fund baby on a whole new level."
"Or a Donald Trump level." PJ said.
That remark got a chuckle out of Dan and Phil, but the point still remained: Caspar and his friends were not to be trusted.Becs
If you hadn't guessed by the lack of a philosophical intro, this chapter was written by me. I felt like there should be a chapter for the British Vloggers while seeing what others think of Caspar before the party. It may seem like filler, but it's more of a... Public Eye view I guess?
Question of the chapter-Who will have more power in the story?
