My alarm had once again woken me up. I woke up remotely glad because I didn't have a shift until Friday, but unfortunately, I still had school today.
I got up slowly, rubbing my tired eyes and stretching out my arms and legs as they made many cringe-worthy sounds.
Glancing over at my schedule on the wall just above my desk, I realised my first class was Chemistry, which we were currently doing nothing in. At least nothing I didn't already know.
I figured I could ditch first class and take the time to have some breakfast and a shower. After all, I wasn't missing anything important.
I stripped down and then slowly stepped into the running warm water, shutting the glass door behind me. I stood there for a few minutes, letting the water soak my dry skin and wet my long hair, making the shade of it darker than it is originally.
It cascaded down my back as I reached over and took the shampoo out of its holder on the wall, squeezing some onto my hand and closing the lid again.
I began massaging the cold substance into my hair, producing bubbles and soap atop my head. I decided to close my eyes as I weaved my fingers through the wet strands.
After I finished washing my hair with both shampoo and conditioner, I scrubbed down my body with some smooth body scrub.
I shaved my legs and my underarms, washing myself off once more and standing still under the water for a few minutes.
When I was satisfied with my cleanliness, I turned off the water and hopped out, hissing to myself when my feet hit the cold tiles. I quickly jumped back into the floor mat, grabbing my towel and drying myself off.
After I was dressed, I tied my hair up into a wet bun to let it dry off a bit before I actually got ready, so the water wouldn't go down the back of my shirt.
My phone suddenly went off. Dragging myself towards it, I picked it up and opened the text message from Khira.
Khira: Where are you? Are you alright?
Me: Yeah, I'm fine. Just ditching first class so I can have a little bit of a rest. Come pick me up at 8?
Khira: No worries! I'll be there in an hour.
Me: Alright.
I placed my phone back down and wandered over to my desk, sitting down there and opening my laptop. I checked my email, Skype and Facebook. I hadn't a clue why I even had Facebook, because I never posted anything. I used it more for 'stalking', per-say.
The time went by a lot quicker after that, so I made sure to get ready. I ended up simply throwing on a grey shirt, my black skinny jeans and my black vans. I really put little to no effort into my appearance, unless I am told that I have to.
I grabbed my phone after it buzzed once again. After I read the short message Khira sent me, telling me she was out the front, I slid my apartment key off the bench and darted out the door, into the elevator and down the front steps.
We bid each other hello before she stepped on the gas and began to drive back to campus.
"Did you have a class now?" I suddenly realised that she could've ditched a class just to pick me up.
